I've owned several of the OnePlus phones (One Plus 1, 2, X and 3). Anecdotally, I never had a single issue with any of them.

Just bought a OnePlus 5, it's doing great and I love it, although I think this will be the last OnePlus phone I buy, simply because the price advantage over the designer phones is closing fast with every new model.
I'm also decided not to buy the OnePlus 5, not because of price but because of the problems OnePlus had with the roll out (screen issues, inability to call 911, etc.) and their recent business practices of not acknowledging problems.

I replaced the OnePlus 3 with a Xiaomi Mi Mix which is an amazing phone with a huge 6.4" bezel less display. The only downsize is the phone's size.

My next phone will likely be the upcoming Pixel XL2 or the Essential Phone.

I would get a Samsung phone simply to be able to use Samsung Pay.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what's so great about Samsung pay? Is it superior to android pay?

With the Pixel 2 about 4-6 months before I can get one into my hands I decided to put a new battery into my 6p. Battery life was down to 6-7 hours so that' just not going to work. $149 at iPhix.

It's still not quite as good as it was new, but 10-12 hours (with about 1 hr of usage in that) is back as a possibility...

They both sort of suck because of the lack of support by the banks in Canada. I thought Samsung only supported CIBC Visa while Andriod supports a handful more.

It's probably for a different thread but the degree of fragmentation with tap payment between banks, platforms etc is just slowly killing off the possibility of it becoming mainstream.

Best customization launcher for OnePlus 3? I got used to having my custom icons and themes for my phone and I'm curious if one launcher is better than the other from the app store.

Has anyone successfully used a Canadian Tire Mastercard on Android Pay? I don't remotely understand.

What I did:
-Add CT MC to Android Pay
-Went to go buy stuff
-Got to self checkout counter
-Looked stupid because Android Pay wanted me to install the CT app
-Paid with another card like a peasant because I was holding up the line

-Go home and install CT app
-CT app makes me add the card again
-The "pay" function in the app is a barcode where the cashier has to call for manager approval?!?!

I used CT tire card. Worked flawlessly with android pay. Had the CT app but didn't enter any card info there.
Just added it to android pay and that was it.
My pro tip is to use at at McDonald's self serve kiosk to buy a coffee. Not holding anyone up, don't feel the pressure of what you has to go through.
Good luck

Nuked my 6P, screen /digitizer broke trying to take the battery out. It was going so easily to. Oh well. Think I'll ship for a note 4 now.

I had grown to really dislike the phone, size, weight, performance so I'm not terribly upset. I have a Note 3 which I like and runs really well on 7.1.2 but the Note 4 has the octacore chip so I want to see what it is like compared to the 3.

OnePlus 5 has given me no problems so far, 911 call fix was already made to the phone, screen looks great, and tons of goodies. Fantastic phone, and if you don't end up getting another one, I do recommend the 5.

Has anyone been following the Essential release. Looks interesting enough.

It's a telus exclusive but it's being sold unlocked? I assume that means I can still purchase it and use it on another network?

I am intrigued by it. Not in the market for a new phone but I'll be interested to see where it goes from here. Could be an option down the road.

I like that they'll try and keep up with the Pixel for updates. The accessories seem cool and the screen looks awesome.

The Essential is missing a couple of essentials imo. No sdcard slot or headphone jack....but that's the direction most phones are heading. The price is right. The compact size is nice. The snapon add-ons are not something I'm interested in. I like the location of the finger print reader. The Android os experience is the only way to go with an Android device imo. I want to see this thing in person but it's only available for preorder right now.

I've never needed, nor wanted to put either in my Nexus 6P.

Cloud storage, ubiquitous wifi and the quality of bluetooth devices make these features unnecessary.

Maybe I'm just different, but I feel this statement doesn't speak for today's consumer.
