It's his job to do things that don't get noticed by fans. You can notice him by the lack of anything bad happening.
Hired Brad and let him work? A+...

I think the biggest asset Brian Burke brings to the organization is Accountability.
If you have ever had the pleasure of meeting Brian, he's one intense individual who demands success. Creating the environment is the primary purpose for anybody in upper management. This allows others below him to perform at the highest levels. From the GM to the coaching staff, to the trainers and beyond.
I personally have always been a big fan of Brain Burke for his no BS approach

Except he isn't the president, he's actually the president of hockey operations, which means he is ultimately responsible for everything that happens on the ice, that's his job.
People getting very wrapped up in who to give credit for things. Whether it's something positive or negative that happened on ice or with the on ice talent, coaches or product, Burke is 100% responsible for good or bad.
Whether the only way he gets his job done is by hiring Brad then taking vacation forever, or whether he's involved and gets final say in every decision made, or it's somewhere in the spectrum before the former and the latter (most likely reality lies somewhere in that broad spectrum) it doesn't really matter. Burke gets paid to be in charge of everything hockey related with this club, and if you love the state the Flames are in right now then you have to love the job he's doing, if you hate the direction we are going then you have to hate how he's doing and everything in between.
i love where this team tends to be heading and how's it's positioned, not every moves been a winner, but so far I have to say at least a B+ on his tenure. Great hire by the Flames brass.

I was not that big a fan of Burke before his hiring but he's done well in righting the ship. The biggest thing is he's a real hockey person who's replaced King. In my mind King was an amateur and no better than a typical fan. Hiring Treliving has been his best move, I'd say.

Honestly, hats off to Burke. His tenure with the Flames has been much less worrisome than I feared when he was hired. He's not visible to the fans or media in the day to day operations of the team during the season. He seems very accessible to Treliving, and probably even the coaching staff, and able to offer the perspective that his career and experience can provide. In fact, I bet he's been instrumental in helping Treliving build relationships and connections with other teams around the league.

A- to A for me. I was quite skeptical at the beginning given BBs mediocre performance in Toronto. Not trading Cammalleri at deadline was the only thing that really irked me to this day.
BT hire and Asst GM hires (I presume he had a big role in those) have been excellent. He has given the franchise credibility around the league.
It is very clear Burke is the playing mentor role for BT perfectly. I suspect BT drops into his office daily or almost daily to run things by him for his wisdom.
Burke also has learned from his mistakes with cap management, drafting, and trading. Mistakes BT is much less likely to repeat with BB around. Thank goodness!
I particularly liked his advise to BT about always saying yes when his country calls (ie. World Championship asst GM role this year).
BB is also really funny in person with that blunt humor. Someone you just want to sit down with and learn from.
Our team is not as truculent as he wants but Tkachuk, Bennett, and Ferland do move us closer to that goal.

Glad he is in the organization. My only wish is that they hired him sooner.

We were a Mickey Mouse organisation when he got here, and we're now a team on the path to be a serious contender.
That's pretty much all that needs to be said.

The Flames were a laughing stock from the end of Sutter's tenure through Feaster's entire reign as GM. I feel Burke is a highly respected executive that helped bring some credibility back to the organization. In addition his hire of Treliving seems to be a solid pickup.

Brian getting hired after losing so many of our great owners was a godsend imo.
So far most everything he has done has improved this team.
Hiring Brad and stating he was The only candidate and then having Brad assume duties be fair with Bob, keep Gelinas, bring on new coaches, bring in new players.
BrIan then getting Maloney in here to help.
I think allot of respect has been brought back to our organization that seemed to maybe be lacking after losing people like Harley Hotchkiss, Bud McCaig, Doc Seaman.
BrIan has done well. I hope he sticks around .

Would new jerseys be a hockey ops president job, or a president of the corporations job?

Burke was just what the Flames needed at the time of the hire. I too wish it happened sooner but we got him anyways. As a Flames fan I feel that his presence stabilized the organization throughout and all he had to do was get the GM hiring right and I think even the greatest skeptic will agree he nailed that.

Burke gives us someone to blame when we don't like a move. When something good happens, it's Treliving. When something bad happens, Burke. He is doing an A+ job as a scapegoat for fans.
