Just pick things you like, no need to rage against conformity all the time.

I don't do it to rage against conformity, these are still players I really like

Why do you think I own a David Jones jersey?

I used to own a Jamie Lundmark jersey I wore to games...till I got the name replaced.
To this day I still wonder why.

We're excluding the guy that wears the Flames Crosby jersey here, right?

You'll get some comments based on who it is. My friends Niewendyk jersey is well received, while my Tanguay jersey gets me razzed a little.

I own a jersey with my name on the back. I immediately regretted this decision. And I had to get the number 89 on it too, so I can't replate it.

My son always wears a Gilles Meloche Golden Seals jersey to any game he goes to...he gets a LOT of love for rocking a retro, no matter WHO the teams on the ice are!

I have a hunch you wouldn't be the only person at the Dome wearing an Iginla 2004.
Another important factor is that, given it is in good condition, the 2004 jersey is a lot nicer than the current jerseys.

I have a horsehead autographed by Conroy and only Conroy, but I never ended up getting it lettered. I'd perhaps consider letting it go to a new home.

Yes, choose between two guys who have yet to even play in a Flames uniform, and one who has played 18 games. Very wise purchase
It's fine wanting an uncommon jersey, like a Bouma, Stajan or an Engelland, you know, character guys, warriors, leaders, guys who have actually contributed to the team, but a guy like Jyrki Jokipakka, who has done close to nothing for us? I mean he's a good, young promising hockey player and I'm excited to have him on the team and hope he becomes a major key in the puzzle, but what has he done so far to be worthy of 200 of your hard earned dollars? Hell, we might be losing this guy at the expansion next year, we don't even know if he will even play 100 games for us
Seems like a jersey you will just regret in a couple years

I wonder if it's still possible to get that style of lettering and the mini flaming C captains patch?

The horsehead didn't use the mini flaming C, and the letters/numbers were the same as the current jerseys, just different colours.

These days, if you get a player's name on a jersey, you have to accept that in all likelihood, that player will eventually be a former player (and obviously not including retired players).
When was the last time the Flames had a career lifer? And i mean one that wasn't just a cup of coffee kind of player. I'm thinking Hakan Loob maybe? And his tenure was shorter than most star players.
