According to sportslogos.net. the only domain they have registered is Desert Knights, with the rest held by squatters.
Also, as far as the two name thing goes, in the wacky 70's that was sports branding, the Blue Jays were brought to Toronto in part by Labatt. The hope from the owners was that the team nickname would be the "Blues", ala Labatt Blue, with the Jays being the part dropped. Didn't work out that way.
The only domain that we know of. I know with organizations I've worked for in the past, we've registered domain names that we were considering under people's personal accounts and that sort of thing to ensure that they don't get discovered by the media.
Could be the name, or could be a total misdirection.
I have to wonder if the Army would be open to a generous donation from Mr. Foley, in exchange for relaxing their aversion to the use of the Black Knights name? He seems dead set on having Knights in the name, so why not get the one you want?
I like The Vegas Knights. Speaks to the heritage a little without offending anyone, and sounds good. You can make a pretty cool logo off that.
I like the LV Knights name as well. Rolls off the tongue quite easily. I am sure someone will be eventually offended by it. Holy Crusades involved Knights.
This might actually be awesome, if the logo representing "Sand Knights" was the monster from the movie "Tremors". Those things were the ULTIMATE Sand Knights.
If memory serves, the movie was set in Nevada anyways...at least the first one...
Florida had Kevin Spacey; Las Vegas could have Kevin Bacon. Think of all the "Six Degrees Of" possibilities when visiting teams came through--especially the (c)Oilers!
