Default Sayings That Bother You

Every now and then in the workplace, some buzzword comes up that catches on like wildfire and it drives you crazy. So I thought about creating a thread for it. Not necessarily for business jargon, but for everything. Here are mine:

Good on (insert name/you/him/her)
Fck (year/cancer)
Let's connect
Socialize it
Good conversation

Those are the ones that come to my mind. I can't explain why, but these do.

"It is what it is."

Good god, I can't stand that one. It basically says, "I'm aware that this thing/person totally sucks, but I'm too apathetic to do or say anything to make it better."

#### that. You don't like the way something is, do something about it. Far too much apathy these days.

Anything containing a double-negative needs to just not be.

It's not a work saying, but it's driving me crazy on Facebook posts these days. People mostly use it to refer to something special with their children, but I've seen it on anniversary posts to spouses too.

"I love you to the moon and back." It's not special when every second person uses it.

Oh God, I came here to say this. Thank you.

There are actually times where I can live with it, like a family member passed away or something. Well then yes, it really is what it is. Other times, when it's just apathy, it drives me insane.

It's not a saying, but every time I hear someone say they "seen" something in place of "saw" I die a little inside.

"Oh guess what I seen today?"

Bugs me when people get an old saying totally wrong, they have no clue what it actually means.
