Given to a failed UCP candidate, no less. A dude who was admonished for lying during the pandemic while in a position of respect and authority. No, no, we are totally not a banana republic, we just act like one.

Premier Danielle Smith is expecting a report next month on the integrity of Alberta’s COVID-19 data and decision-making from a little-known task force led by a physician who, at the height of the pandemic, claimed the government manipulated statistics to usher in restrictions.” This is separate from the Preston Manning review and an additional $2,000,000.
It’ll be interesting to see the result and how it is received.

The group that screamed down at the rest of us to "get over it" and "move on" during COVID are the same group refusing to let it go today.
You were wrong. Get over it and move on. No amount of special-interest research is going to justify your ####ty self-centeredness during the pandemic.

Any idea what volunteering for the NDP might entail?

Just about anything. In my experience, they're always in need of more people on the phones.

I know a City lawyer that worked with him and that was a common complaint, but often articulated in the form of: 'he thinks he's the smartest guy in the room.' Her contention - and she's no sycophant - is he usually is the smartest guy in the room. It was typically the dumbest people who hated his "arrogance".
I've noticed the same thing, honestly. Like, sorry he puts poorly thought out positions in their place with facts, I guess?

He irked me as mayor too, but I always felt “damn… you’re probably right but you don’t have to be such a dick about it”. But a lot has changed in politics since then.
He has the teeth that the moderates need right now.

Yeah, I understand that perspective. I like people who are scathing toward stupidity, though, so it's a trait I enjoy about him.

I've always thought the hate/disdain against Nenshi because of his 'arrogance' is a really weird and strange take. People should be interested in actual results as a builder and leader; a personality trait like this should take a very low priority. To me, 'arrogance' just sounds like such peanuts to focus on; the go-to of someone who can't think of anything else to really challenge him on.
But if you really, really want to go there, Marlaina's 'arrogance' through her propensity to lie, gaslight, bait, and falsely speak on behalf of others, all while stepping on the backs of Albertans, is the ultimate in that department.

I just didn’t think it was helpful.
I’m 100% over that though, I hope he’s been using a filter this whole time and it’s about to come off.

I've never really seen him as arrogant. Confident, sure-footed, opinionated, even loud-mouthed. Sure.
Arrogant? IDK, not really the word I'd use.

I doubt any of the candidates would be dumb enough to welcome floor crossers at this point. What would be absolutely delicious is for Nenshi to indicate that he has been approached, but his response was that they'd have to go through the nomination process just like anyone else. Create a little dysentery among the ranks.

When you are wrong about things basically all the time and a guy keeps telling/proving you wrong all the time i guess you might see him as arrogant, but youd be wrong...again.

I guess I look at his “arrogance” as being akin to a theoretical physicist who specializes in black holes listen to a drunk guy at a bar trying to explain an event horizon.
He is extremely intelligent and probably doesn’t always want to have to explain why people are wrong about a subject. I get the feeling that he understands the issues so deeply that it’s not always worth his time to try and explain everything.
He just moves on and perhaps that comes across as arrogant I guess.

A lot of people in positions of power are smart, a lot of time they are the smartest people in the room and they let you know it too. They also make mistakes to degree's that are often avoidable if they didn't think and know they are smart. It's called hubris and it leads to downfalls all the time. It happens in politics, business, sport and more daily.
A lot of times in politics, people like Nenshi, Trudeau, Trump or whomever think they can walk on water, and then they need to cross the lake and don't.
