Anyone thinking Backlund will be traded is off their rocker.
Was probably our most important forward last year and then Treliving went out and added to this team so they could contend.
I don't know what Backlund's extension will look like, but it's coming

Then you may as well trade him now, as Backlund will get more $$$ and years as a UFA.
I guess the hope is that he'll accept less to remain a Flame and not take the risk of injury.
I assume if Backlund would sign such a deal, it would have been done already.
I expect him to sign with the Flames at numbers of about 6x6.

Trading a legit top pairing Dman in his prime for a winger does not sound like something Treliving would do.

I think it will be a D man, with some of the young guys impressing and taking on a larger role.

We will be buyers this season so no NHL roster players will be moved.

The Flames are in playoff mode and most of their pieces don't make sense to trade. The biggest hole is #1 RW, but to obtain one leaves a hole on D or involves Sam Bennett, which isn't going to happen.
Stajan is the only player at risk of losing their job, and it's to the Flames' best prospect, Jankowski. Bartkowski will be kept around for playoff depth.

Jonathan Drouin. But it has to happen now for it to make sense.

I think the Flames are in an add talent scenario right now... I doubt a big deal will occur. it will be small pieces, unless they get a line on a #1RW and have to do a blockbuster. even then I'm not sure who they would be willing to move.

I suppose that if I had to guess, I'd say Stone.

Vancouver suffers a catastrophic injury at forward around New Year's, and desperately needs someone to play RW on the first line. Treliving trades them Stone for a king's ransom, including their eventual lottery-winning #1 pick.
Jim Benning, after the trade: ‘There are TWO Stones?!’

My guess is Stajan at the deadline - depth forwards, especially defensively responsible centres, are coveted by playoff contenders around then.
Lack is another candidate, but that would require a team who has a less than stellar backup or an injury. And of course Eddie finding his game.
Confused by those who say Stone. He is not a UFA and while Hamonic is better I still don't see Stone going for anything less than a pretty hardcore overpayment (like recouping two 1sts +) considering he's freshly inked on a fair deal for the next 3 years.
It could still happen that some desperate contender GM who's top 4 RD goes down, for example, but I doubt it. Treliving doesn't seem that kind of GM to unclassily trade a just-signed familiar face. Nor do I expect Stone to regress to the point of letting two of our 2015 draftees, excluding Kulak, beat him out for a roster spot. Next season? Maybe, but really not seeing it for this one.

Unfortunately, it seems our roster is comprised of people that either can't be traded, or are too valuable to be traded.
So, I can't think of anyone that will be traded.

No chance IMO. Trading one of the most valuable positions for the least valuable position. We're fine at wing and we're not going to pillage the defense.

I don't see Treliving subtracting from the roster, especially down the middle or on D.
Maybe if two or more young forwards force their way onto the roster he ships a depth winger, but none of those carry a ton of value, so it's more likely they hit the waiver wire on their way to Stockton.

Bartkowski is really the only player I could see being moved. If Kulak/Wotherspoon are ready then I could see him dealt to give him an opportunity elsewhere.

I think we already did our trading in the offseason. Don't think we trade a roster player until the 2018 draft.
Maybe one of our prospects for a 2nd/3rd rounder happens but that's about it.
