Don't see a general Vegas thread, but am curious about these side deals and rumours.

I saw McKenzie's article on the TSN app. So basically according to him, Vegas has deals in place to take cap dumps aplenty.

MAF takes up 5.75
Stoner at 3.25 played 14 games last year. Rumour they take him to get Theodore.
To get Marchessailt, they take on 5 M from Reilly Smith
They take 3.08 M of Kruger to get TvR
They take 5 M of Grabovski to "help hit the cap floor"

So if Calgary folks want him to take Brouwer, we are not talking about a guy short on options to meet the cap floor.

I don't see how he arranges to take so many cap dumps

It wouldn't have been Vatanen's equal "right now". It would have been picks or prospects. Otherwise the Ducks have to leave the acquisition (or Manson) exposed.

Vatanen was never available for VGK. They wouldn't have had their protection list the same if they hadn't worked out this deal with VGK.

Vatanen is also out for a couple months to start the season with Lindholm. Anaheim will face some challenges to start the season.
