I think you have to bring back Versteeg if the desire is there on his end and he could be had for a reasonable cost. He was a garbage heap pick up, but he had a legitimate top six forward season and we'll notice his absence.

Brouwer and Chiasson have places on this team. I'm not sold on Hathaway as a full time player.

The problem is not enough top caliber forwards.
Too many AHL forwards is every team's problem.

We need to start putting some fresh young guys on the lineup and time to let Stajan, Bouma and Freddie Hamilton. Unfortunately we are stuck with Brouwer and I am hoping he will have a better season this year. I thought Chiasson started playing well late in the season. I still want them to sign Versteeg though but I am sure he'll ask for a raise from his less than $1M a season contract last season. Maybe $2M at the max should be okay. As for Hathaway, I am not really convince he'll be a consistent NHL player.
I m hoping they try Curtis Lazar on the 3rd line with Bennett with maybe another young guy like Jankowski or Mangiapanne. Brouwer can play on the 4th line with Chiasson.
