Default Telnet Software for connecting to PBX

Good Morning,

We have enabled data recording on our phone system and I need telnet software to connect to see the data but I also want something that can record this data possibly into a .csv file or something I can import into a spreadsheet. I'm not much of a phone guy so any help is appreciated.

Thanks

I always use putty for telnet.

The new goggles also do nothing.

If it's a live console output you are trying to capture putty has some logging functionality, you can log the output you see in various ways and then use NotePad++ or some other text editor to manipulate the file as necessary.

If it's to transfer an existing file on a filesystem, WinSCP will connect via SSH and let you transfer files back and forth (basically a Windows GUI for scp).

EDIT: Sorry you said specifically telnet, but not sure if you mean that literally (in which case putty and turning on logging) or just meant that as remotely connecting (i.e. via SSH), no experience with PBXes so not sure which it would be.

its just capturing or logging whats being displayed on the screen, there are better more costly ways to do this but its beyond what we need. Our phone guy uses procomm to connect to the system but i'm not sure yet if it has logging capabilities. I will try putty also today, thanks

I use ZOC but it isn't a free app and is overkill for what you are trying to do. For a free app, PuTTY is great and will log capture to a file. Most terminal software has a capture or logging function, Procomm has this and heck, even icky Windows Hyperterminal has this.
