I want Lazer-Bennett to be the next Gaudreau-Monahan. Bennett deserves a skilled winger, and Lazer deserves to play with talented players. Match made in heaven.

You get this 22 year old kid who understands the role of pro athlete in the community and fully embraces it.
Then you get a guy like Marshawn who couldn't even be bothered to answer a damn media question.
These guys are role models and idols to so many young boys and girls.

Marshawn Lynch actually has a reputation of being pretty charitable in the Oakland community.
Even has started is own foundation http://fam1stfamilyfoundation.org/events/

Lazar and Hamonic add a ton of character to the team and seem like glue guys that teams win with.
I felt like the Lazar trade for us was similar to the Baertschi trade for the Canucks. While the Flames seem to have potentially hit on Andersen the Canucks are pleased with Sven's progression. I am hopeful Lazar will be a far better player in Calgary than he was in Ottawa

39 pts in 180 games played might have something to do with it. The kid didn't have mono for 3 straight seasons.
Sounds like a great guy, and he could be a nice energy player for the Flames. But so far he hasn't shown that he's anything more than a fringe NHLer.

Yeah I am excited to see what he can bring but his draft position is ancient history now. Hopefully he can find some production.
There is no guarantee of a roster spot for him IMO although given he was protected in the expansion draft I'm sure he won't be exposed to waivers.

Still think Lazar is a Conroy clone. Eventually, the on-ice performance will get up to speed with his A+ off-ice game.

Yes - hope we get to see "the smiling assassin" in his most lethal form!

Marshawn Lynch was actually pretty good with media at first in Buffalo, but media being media and trying to create stories pissed him off so he decided to not give them anything to talk about.
I respect him a lot for that because the media will try and spin anything these days to get the masses to click on their story, It's sad actually...

I still think Lazar has to earn his spot but they will be patient with him so he will likely be the 13th forward instead of exposing him to waivers.

I was both disgusted and highly entertained. I remember thinking, what a good guy, this guy gets it, he's out there to have fun.

And a hygienic guy like that acquired a communicable disease like mono? What rotten luck.

I'd bet good money on Lazar being in the lineup on opening night.

He had 3 points in 4 games for Calgary...you must be hard to impress.

Did your eyes not see a goal and two assists? And only one goal against while he was on the ice?

And did that with poor conditioning and limited minutes. Healthy Lazar is good Lazar

I'm more worried about Lazar's hockey sense then I am his cardio returning. Small sample size for sure, and limited time to gel with a new team, but the few times he did play for the Flames, he looked lost out there in my opinion. Hoping it was just rust.

^The entire Flames lineup looked lost for the first part of the season learning that system.
A full training camp should do wonders for Lazar.
