Great passer, hitter and great release. He knows where to be and when throw the hit when it's needs to be done. He's learned allot by not overcommiting to hits.

Dammit I love this guy. Keep him on the top line please or with 2 skilled guys who play with fire like Vertsteeg and Bennett......or the other Michaels.

Big big year coming up.
30 goals? Yikes. Not even Monahan is a shoe-in for 30.

I'd be happy with a repeat 15.

This season is going to be huge for Ferly. I bet he puts up a 30G/15A season. I believe in his skill set, and the guy himself. A full year in a properly structured system with Monahan and Gaudreau is going to be huge.

Thanks for the awesome work as always AC!

If he keeps up his play and sticks with Johnny and Monahan, I think he could be a 20/20 guy at the least

Great vid as always.

Please tell me that "approaching the final 3 minutes of this one" was intentional.

Ferly is a beauty. Skates fast, hits like a truck, doesn't take penalties, has a ridiculous shot, uses his teammates and isn't afraid to drop the mitts (and when he does, rarely loses). He's basically the perfect hockey player. Just needs more consistency in his game. I too, am hoping he sticks on the top line next season. He's got all the tools to be successful.

Ferland was the one guy I worried about post-Hartley. He didn't need favouritism but he did need a chance. Glad that turned out to be a non issue.

As I recall the abysmal start to the season.. Ferland was often the lone bright spot. I know he gets knocked for consistency...but I thought he really brought it that first month when few others did.

Dude has skill and gained confidence last year as is evident in the number of times he held the puck and took the shot. The Flames need that. Mony and Johnny need that!

Wow - just so many Flames to be excited about this upcoming season. We are a lucky fan base! And obviously...all your Mikes belong to us!!

Great stuff from Ferly! Also, AC, I like how you modified the TV station logos to spell AC instead.

Hands down my favorite player. Brings it all to the table. I'm hoping he gets 50 points this year, and continues his physical style of play.

Ferly you're my boy!

Seems like he spent alot of time with Stajan and Bouma in those highlights. Such a good player.

That hit he drops on Seguin is an absolute bone rattler.

What a massive hit.

The entire sequence against NYI was amazing. Look forward to seeing him start the season on the top line.

Some guys have a "heavy" shot and some guys are just "heavy" hitters. When Ferland hits someone they fell it. I'm not sure what it is about him that's different but when he puts a hit on you it just always seems to do damage.

I love this kid's story and I am so proud of him. Really glad that he's a Calgary Flame.

Just listening to the audio too, it sounds like he puts a lot of damage on people, i wonder how many injuries hes caused other teams. Sounds like through the first 10 minutes i think 3 were mentioned.

A real puck hound and body hound. You could say he has 'vision' as a distributor.. half the time he's not even looking but the plays are never risky. I guess that's hockey sense

I specifically remember listening to Button's wrap-up after that draft, and that is what he stated. "We picked smart players from start to finish. This was an IQ draft" - something like that (though the Flames didn't have a pick until the third round that year).
