yeah, it's been a really poor year in the NBA playoffs from what I've heard... LeBron is on a mission it seems like. Totally trucked TO and look like they will do the same to Boston.
Golden State and Cleveland could be a fantastic series though... it might save the playoffs, or at least a little bit in terms of ratings in the finals at least
Pretty much. Raptors got a lot of heat, but the Celtics are getting smoked even worse.
In the NHL every round has its excitement, but in the NBA there is nothing to watch until the final.
I had to chuckle at TSN's coverage on their website.
Dave Poulin - their expert who stole a Selke from Colin Paterson but I digress - Dave Poulin goes on about how the Ducks are getting the raw end of the deal from the officials the last 2 games.
I'm sure glad Dave Poulin watched the first two series the Ducks' played.

Yep it was a great series. As much as I hate the Ducks they have pretty good resolve and are never out of a game it seems.
I agree. Watching that series and a few others, I couldn't help but reflect on how the Flames lacked that kind of resolve. Yes, they were sunk by bad goaltending more than anything else but both the Predators and Ducks showed a type of mental resiliency to overcome bad breaks that the Flames were lacking in the playoffs and through most of the season.

The Cavaliers also swept the Pacers in the 1st round although the margin of each win was 6 points or less. The Celtics managed to squeak out a 3 point win against the Cavaliers. Still, you're right that the NBA playoffs have been inferior in comparison with the NHL playoffs. There have been only 2 NBA series that went 7 games and for the NHL, lots of overtime games.
GM Bob Murray said today that they will both require surgery and Lindholm is out 5 months and Vatanen will be out "longer' than that.
I wonder if this is/there will be some expansion trickery with some things like this. I'm not saying that teams will fake medical records or anything, but planting the seed that a player might have a significant injury might be used as an attempt to scare away Las Vegas.
I don't think an injury like this would scare Vegas away from taking a 26 year old right shooting top 3 defenseman signed with term to less than $5 million per.
Anaheim is going to be trying to trade Vatanen, if anything news like this hurts their return, not help their expansion draft situation.
