The World Championship has never been a best on best tournament whereas the World Cup has been or is best on best. As you say though it can be interesting. The Russians should be favoured drawing from the KHL as their season will be done.

Did most of the players play in South Korea throughout their development? Just curious if they were able to develop their own players or did most of them have to leave at a young age to develop elsewhere.
