The old Ottawa Senators moved to St Louis for a season before folding outright back in the 1930s.

No Champion of the modern era has ever relocated.

Oddly enough, in the expansion era, 7 teams have relocated (Calgary, New Jersey, Dallas, Colorado, Arizona, Carolina, and Winnipeg) and 5 of them have won the Cup in their new home. Only the two teams who have played home games in Winnipeg have not.

Do you mean a team that once won, or a current champ?

Ottawa, as noted. But the Penguins were actively trying to move in the 00s, until they got an arena deal from Pittsburgh. And Edmonton tried to move as well, and the city/arena took them to court.

Not in the modern era, but when fans fail to show up I don't think it matters.

I think every country should change their times to maximize daylight hours after work.

Its always pretty messed up when you visit the tropics and the sun is going down at 5:30-6pm.

If I were a lawmaker there I'd be pushing to change business hours so that you had sunlight until 9pm.

Quite the opposite, actually. The NHL spent a very long time - close to seven years, iirc, trying to find an owner in Atlanta. Atlanta Spirit never wanted the team at all. It was forced to take it to get the Hawks and the arena.

The difference between Atlanta and Phoenix is that nobody engineered a phony bankruptcy scam that forced the Atlanta situation into the public spotlight.

I think he was asking about 'After the Great Depression.'
