I went to Minas Brazilian Steakhouse near Eau Claire for lunch with coworkers today and really enjoyed it. More limited meats at lunch, but still good quality. Only problem is now I'm trying not to lay down on the floor of my office and have a nap.

I think so. Way more prominent location on 17.

I picked up chicken from Cluck n' Cleaver last night and just loved it. It was well seasoned and we got huge pieces of chicken in our 10 piece. I'm not holding out hope that we get lucky with the big pieces again, but man, that was really tasty chicken - tasted just as good cold as well.

I just had Cluck N Clever for lunch. Maybe my expectations were a little too high, but I was pretty disappointed. Found it pretty greasy and not really all that different from the other chicken places around town.

had it for lunch today too, went with the 1/2 rotisserie and to be honest it was alright but Costcos is better and a quater of the price.

Carino Reserva is amazing! Duck Udon! Great to share as well.

Have to say I was underwhelmed by Cluck and Cleaver as well.

Went to Shokunin the other night and I was underwhelmed. Prices are way out of whack with what you get. Place was loud, food was mediocre. Most likely won't be going back.

Did you go for lunch or dinner? I went for lunch and had similar thoughts, was thinking their dinner menu might be better.

Dinner. We ordered four skewers, Japanese eggplant, Octopus fritters, crispy beef tongue gyoza, Japanese pickles.
The skewers were okay, expensive, the dipping sauce saved them. The Octopus fritters were really good, but everything else was crap, really.

That sucks. I liked downtownfood so I had high hopes. For lunch we had the Duck Tataki, ramen, rice bowl and the sushi sampler.
The duck was good, everything else was average and can be had cheaper and better at other places.

We tried Sauce Italian Kitchen and Market (33 street and 17 ave SW) today and it was pretty solid food and a great value. They had about 10 or 12 pasta dishes on special (Sundays and Mondays) for $10. The portions were actually large enough for a decent meal at $10. I probably wouldn't pay upwards of $20 (regular price) for those dishes but at $10 I was very satisfied and would certainly return on a Sunday or Monday. It gets really busy by 6pm though.
I also bought a $2 loaf of italian bread. They also have some really cheaply priced deli meats but I didn't purchase any this because I have a bunch of ham and beef from easter that I will probably be eating for a week.
I was hoping to check out The Pie Hole as well but they aren't open on Mondays.

Went to Teatro on Saturday. Swing and a miss, for the first time ever. I think the first time I went was in 1998 as an out of place 19 yr old.
Had the lobster bisque and a seafoood main with squid and scallops. The whole thing was just bland. Especially the bisque. The one I had a month ago at anew was amazing, this was just limp.
Well one in a hundred ain't bad I guess. Their summer lunch for $25 is an amazing deal and very good. Went quite a bit last year. Hopefully they bounce back next time.

I feel like Shokunin is a place you go for a few snacks to accompany drinks. They can't really survive as a dinner spot with their food at those price points, unless you're feeding anorexic models.

Pro Tip -
Anejo is great during happy hour - 1/2 prices tacos, beers and margaritas.

Home Tasting Room is now Klein Harris.
Renovated interior. More casual feel, with sort of a cocktail, small plates area along with bigger meal options. Definitely more of an after-work feel.

Do you have to make reservations for Anejo on Fridays?
