Default Eastside Hockey Manager

Released today on Steam.

I didn't know if this was posted elsewhere. But they are having a limited release of a brand new version of EastSide Hockey Manager

More details here

Never really got into the game but the reactions from people on the site seems to be overjoyed. Might pick it up.

It was a pretty addictive game, but not without it's flaws. It was pretty predictable after playing it for a while (especially on how to find good players in the draft). Once you established a championship caliber team, it was pretty easy to stay on top. I think the last time I played, I won 15 Cups in 20 seasons or something like that.

Hopefully they fixed that.

I love the first and second version of the game, I don't think I played number 3 because of the menu system.

I really enjoyed running teams, firing coaches, watching my former top pick turn into a bust.

It was a very good simulator for the time, far deeper then the Hockey Manager one that clipped to Wayne Gretzky Ice Hockey.

There's a pretty good community of fans of the game here:
http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums/portal.php
One of the things they do is work on annual updates to the database, so you can play in the present season with up to date versions of the players and team rosters.

Loved playing Football Manager, was hoping for Eastside to come back with something new. Even if it is early access for a small discount, seems well worth the investment to see it grow.
Edit: Looks like the 20% discount is because I own Football Manager (2013). Supposedly it was mentioned with 2015 specifically but I'm not complaining.

So Eastside Manager vs the new Franchise Manager...

Used to love EHM.

I still play the old free version from time to time. If I ever have time. I always come up with different types of scenarios for me to try. Try to build a team a certain way. I usually win the cup within a year and never look back. The games are easy to figure out.

I remember back to the old days of Hockey League Simulator. My friends and I spent a tonne of time on that game. You could import games to Wayne Gretzky Hockey (1 or 2) and play them and then import the game stats back into HLS.

If I knew I would have time to make it worth my while to buy the new HLS, I would, but I hardly ever play games any more. I'd love to try it out though.

That's how I run it. It's the only application I have installed on my Windows partition.

Is the mod community going to do something to get real player names in the game?

I might try that wine application rather than go spend the money.

Did I do something wrong then maybe when starting a season? It has all fake names for me.

IT IS BACK!

I'm so excited. So far, it looks like a much more polished version of 2007. I sure hope it sells enough so that they will continue to develop it.

Hm, I think there should be real names with the original install. Here, try downloading this (follow the instructions on where to extract the zip); http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums...ic.php?t=13590

I have the same problem. Despite un-checking the 'randomize player names' box, all my players are completely randomly named.

I'll check out the link above, though.

EDIT: Also, apparently all the currency is in pounds for some reason?

Got the real names by downloading that file, thanks.

And you can change the currency in preferences.

My issue right now is when continuing on to a new day, it ALWAYS goes unresponsive for about 5 seconds, and then continues on.
