I'm sure Thornton would have taken less if Marleau agreed to stay. Thornton's ask probably went up after Marleau signed elsewhere knowing the Sharks suddenly had a lot of extra cap space.

I remember when people were complaining that Gio and Johnny were signed for too much. With this free agency as reference, those contracts, and all the key flames contracts, are steals.

Ridiculous money but it is only for a season. He can still score at a 50-60 point rate at least.

Don't be surprised if Thornton signs next year with SJ for a ridiculously low number.

Edit: and a little lot drunk
Getzlaf is a great skater. Don't see the analogy.

Well he isn't beating any of the top guys in the league in a foot race. And yet he's still dominant.

Edit * Damn autocorrect. Thanks for the English lesson though.

Thornton is going to sign a one year deal with the Leafs next year to give the Leafs some pretty great centre depth...book it!

*SIGH* This happens far too often, and while sometimes I think it might be a product of autocorrection, I don't believe that it usually is.

Dominate is a verb, meaning that while it is something Getzlaf can do it most certainly is not something he can be. The word you are looking for is dominant, which is an adjective, and in this case describes Getzlaf's being as a hockey player.

That is all.

He may skate well, but he isn't fast by any means IMO

I went to a tough school, the teacher asked me what comes at the end of a sentence? I answered, "An appeal".

Obviously not, but I cannot be held accountable for what happens when I am blinded by anger.
