Exactly. There must be something about Shinkaruk that teams don't like.

Bad choice to pick him now when he probably would've been available at 28. It seems pretty obvious to test your luck and pick someone more sure around your draft pick spot. You got the luxury of three 1st.

Scouts are paid to rank these guys. I don't get this selection but they know more than I do. Guess we'll wait and see. IMO Shinkaruk was a safer pick at 22 and a good story.

So can we keep this thread about the player.
None of you (including myself) know much about him, so I'd love if this thread was about the actual thread topic and not who we didn't take.
Videos, scouting reports etc.

Dissapointed that the Flames did not Shinkaruk but maybe Feaster and the gang paid attention on Poirer's play in Q and saw something that us Westerner never seen. I still think he might be available on 28th but we don't know that for sure. I'll just be pis$ed if Canucks pick him. I hope Eastern team like Montreal pick him.

Everyone laments Feaster over the draft when that's one of the things he is good at.

Well I'm glad we did this. We can now sleep safely knowing we got through this draft with a second round pick.

Trust me people, be happy the Canucks are stuck with him. He doesn't have the right attitude.

Sure seems that way. This guy wasn't even on the best 10 list of players still remaining.
If Detroit makes this pick, I'd be intrigued and think that they saw something everyone else didn't. But given the track record of Flames scouting, my initial reaction is that they screwed the pooch huge.
Time will tell, and hopefully this kid proves us wrong. But after the long line of Fata, Tzachuk, Erixon and Nemisz, I have doubts that Flames scouting would have picked Jones had he dropped to 6.

Never heard of this guy, but in at least 1 photo he looks a lot like Brad Marchand.
Therefore, this is a very good pick.

The kid looked ecstatic when he got picked it was good to see. Only problem I have with this pick is aren't we already pretty set on LW?

I assume Calgary took him at 22 because he was in montreals radar. That's just my guess.
