Pretty solid effort for a nice win. Still would've liked to see a little more killer instinct with the bats to truly bury a team. But that 2nd inning string of hits was great.

Niiiiiiice. Pitchers stepped up. Great to see.
And Varsho's defensive play this season so far has been ridiculous. He looks amazing.

Probably going to say that a lot this year. At least it looks that way. Jays are trotting out a stud starter every game it seems like, especially once Gausman gets fully going.
Yariel looks like the real deal.
And the bullpen when healthy is stacked.

No more Mitch White. He got traded to San Francisco for cash considerations.

Yikes. Perhaps there was something they seen in him that raised an alarm, but I'd have thought someone else would be lower than him in the grander scheme of things. Future considerations doesn't sound like it would amount to much.

They DFAed him so getting money for him is better than nothing I guess.

Who would you have ditched instead though? Nate Pearson only has a spot because they just put Chad Green on the 15 day IL.
Would you keep White over Richards or Cabrerra?

I take back calling Varsho nothing more than a defensive specialist that should bat 9th. The Jays will be hard to beat this year if he keeps up the slugging along with elite defence.

Hahah. Looked like the ump called a perfect inning to me. Got all the close calls right on.

Varsho is never going to hit for a great (or good) average. Bit too weak of a hit tool. However he’s like the best rated defender of the last 20 years, he’s excellent on the base paths, he will get a decent number of walks and he has power. That will work quite well I think.

Didn't seem like Profar did much to get kicked out. Wonder what he said

That pitch looks like it caught a bit of the strike zone.
Not sure why the Padres are freaking out and getting kicked out but I like it.

He got warned for tossing his bat(which is mandatory) and then the ump tossed him for dropping the helmet(which he probably could’ve ignored, don’t think he said anything,

The Padres in disarray gifting the Jays an extra run. The crowd booing balls was funny. Seems like a great atmosphere.

Yeah, you're right. I guess I seen some potential in White and a future consideration tends to be not much. So it's just some disappointment in the value returned for someone who has #4 real upside.

Jays haven't worn the powder blues yet. I am guessing Nike issues like other teams are having with supply.
Jays are also getting City Connect jerseys this season at some point.
