I have high hopes for Louis CK.

Jeremy Renner? Interesting. I hope he does well, I like him.

I don't see Renner being very funny (much like Daniel Craig), but he definitely could surprise.

Well, he seems to have a good sense of humour, based on interviews I've seen of him. That doesn't necessarily mean he'll be an amazing host, but I think he'll be better than Daniel Craig. That was a terrible episode. I was cringing.

Wow. Gord Downie on SNL from the 90's looked like Sheldon from Big Bang..

Best image I could google.

Further googling gave me some online support for my theory

It's a shame that Louis CK got the episode after the hurricane because it was obvious that they didn't have time to write a full show worth of material this week. The monologue and the first half of the show were strong (especially "Lincoln"), but the Weekend Update and pretty much everything that came after were filler.

That describes almost every SNL episode since the beginning.

I don't disagree, but that mountain pass sketch was brutal. In any normal week, that would be on at 12:55 if it didn't end up on the cutting room floor.

Also, it was strange that there was barely any mention of politics considering that the election is in a few days. Jay Pharoah didn't even make an appearance as Obama.

Damn, I was really looking forward to this episode, because of Louis CK, but that was hot garbage.

My wife thought I was having a seizure I was laughing so hard at the Australian Film Legends skit.

Agreed. The only watchable moments were the opening skit and the Abe Lincoln digital short.

Kudos for them for being able to put on a show with the natural disaster around them but....yeesh.

I'm not sure why people had high expectations for Louis as host.

He's a good stand-up, but he's not a great performer. Every acting role I've ever seen him in is just himself wearing a different costume, and SNL played to that.

The monologue worked because it was basically Louis doing five minutes of stand-up. "Lincoln" worked because it was basically "what if 'Louie' was 'Lincoln'?"

You could tell he hated absolutely every second of that sketch, haha he just mailed it in. Kept pulling the horn away too early, and then at one point even stopped reading what the cards said & just said "something something" and threw up his hand like whatever.

I almost found it enjoyable to watch just due to how embarassed he was to be in that sketch.

'SNL' Scorecard: Louis C.K. Was, For Better Or Worse, Louis C.K.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-r...b_2072353.html

Louis C.K. has developed the reputation that he's only happy when he's 100 percent in charge and on last night's show, at times, that seemed evident. During the moments that he was comfortable, he was electric. When he wasn't comfortable, he broke character. (And not in the usual "can't stop laughing" kind of way.) In other words: Louis C.K. was Louis C.K.

The funniest lines of the show was when Kate McKinnon's character was asked if she had any last words and replied, "Kangaroo, I guess."

Average Score for this Show: 5.92
· Christina Applegate 6.13
· Seth MacFarlane 5.93
· Louis C.K. 5.92
· Bruno Mars 5.81
· Joseph Gordon-Levitt 5.51
· Daniel Craig 5.35

I liked Lincoln, Last Call & Aussie Screen Legends (cuz Kate McKinnon is brilliant), and I liked the sign language by Cecily and Nasim in the cold open. I recommend to pause and read all the corrections everytime they do the fact check on Fox & Friends.
