Default EA Sports NHL 17

First trailer released today. Doesn't show too much, but there's a couple tidbits. It will be interesting to see where they take the franchise this year.

Didn't buy NHL 16; first one I've skipped since 1997. They actually have to convince me to return to this product after the year before. Part of the problem was I was one of the few people who loved GM Connected, even with its near-unplayable implementation.

I wish I cared about this game, but 15 and 16 were so underwhelming.

And for those interested, also the cover vote.

I actually really like 16. Feels more realistic than 15. 17 Should be a lot better and I'm hearing there are a lot of new features to HUT coming.

How gross is it that McDavid is even an option for the cover vote? If he is on it I might skip next year.

It'll be McDavid, I have almost no doubt.

My son and I were talking about getting PS4 and buying NHL 17. I have been one of those that buys every second year.

Looks like I am going to have a disappointed son.

Franchise relocation looks pretty cool, hopefully the execution is done properly.

Did they purposely put McJesus against a player who had a bad year? Looks like EA already knows who they want to win.

that video was quite useless.

All i learned is that i can move a team's location (or create a new team), and i can now manage the arena as an owner........

The gameplay has to be better. Pick the few game modes they actually want to support, and make me want to play the game and be vested longer.

That's my feedback as an offline player. I play online/HUT for like the first month or so, before the game is unplayable due to the gamplay weaknesses becoming easy exploits.

I really enjoyed 16. I'm with you though – I miss GM Connected hard. Apparently only about 1% of people who started GM connected seasons finished them. Sadly I'm guessing that puts it well off their radar, especially with the HUT money machine in full swing.

Hell, some buddies and I have actually started an online league "thing" where we have to play standard 1 vs. 1 matches and tally game results manually on a website. It's actually pretty fun, but god does it ever feel like the 90s.

At my last job I organized a 2v2 tournament with regular season and playoff rounds. We entered our scores online to keep track of the standings. Was a helluva lot of fun, but so much work to organize.

(and it wasn't perfect. there were fights over when to do roster updates, games that didn't get played, no carryover between playoff matches, and problems with ties because the online system wasn't built for hockey)

get EA access...you will get 10 hours of play time of 17 when it is first released and own it before the playoffs start next year. In the meantime you will have NHL 16

29.99 a year...you will also have Fifa, Madden, Battlefield ect.

There's a free wordpress plugin built for sports teams (you know... real ones). I just set up a base site and installed it, and it's done a surprising amount of heavy lifting for us.
