I’m sightseeing in Halifax at the moment and Museum of Immigration tells me exactly what it’s about, Maritime Museum tells me exactly what it’s about. The Citadel covers a range of topics but is still calked the Citadel - there is no point hiding the dominating physical structures behind a more inclusive name.

Louvre, Getty, Glenbow, d’Orsay, etc. Not every museum is “The Museum of (subject)” nor does it really seem to matter if they are, but thankfully, this one has “Historic site & parkland” right in the name, so you know what you’re getting anyway!

I could have done the same. The joke I was making was that if you ask any two people who use the term woke how they define it you’ll usually get two completely different answers.

Another fun fact: I made that up.

Oddly enough, this afternoon, I was listening to a podcast that was talking about the collective nouns for groups of animals, and the collective noun for a group of snails is a "walk".
Apparently, the people who came up with a lot of collective nouns were sarcastic a-holes.

Anyone know what's going on with Thai Tai on 17th?
I stopped by there the other day to see the place gutted and a sign on the door. I think it said they were moving but I didn't catch the details.

I've been going there consistently to get subs for the past 15 years, it was quite unsettling to see it closed.

I don't know about that man, I tried them once, not even close to Thai Tai. They were ok, but not even close.
Thai Tai have changed a few ingredients over the years but overall are most consistent and best quality when it comes to bread freshness, sauce and simply taste.

I've never been there because I would go to Kim Anh across the street. How do they compare?

I like Thai Tai because it's cheap and value for money. Because I like to have options.

Thi Thi was so cheap for a while. Has it gone up?
I remember thinking they were not charging nearly enough. It was $3 for a sub for years, cold cut combo. Then Thai tai had that health board shut down a while back.

That's where I order from now. It's good.
The bread is probably 65% of the sub's value. Most important part.
Also, anyone know where you can buy retail viet sub buns (baguette)? Grocery stores have the worst bread on earth. COBS is a little too wonderbready.
Calgary needs more good bakeries of the french style.

Thai Tai has an extensive menu for cheap. Dinner cost me like $8 last time I was there a few months ago. I couldn't believe it.

Almost all the viet places use the same supplier since making viet sub bread is a huge PITA. They used to sell them at T&T years ago, I have no idea if they still do.
