The 3 contracts Philly are most likely looking to shed are Vinny L, Umberger and L. Schenn.
Pronger a possibility too

I'll puke if Vinny Lecavalier wears a Flaming C.

When Feaster traded Jaybo he himself said that cap space was a "big asset" in that deal...Cap space he never used

Why would they trade Pronger? He's on some kind of a phoney LTIR and real money is only 525k next year.
They would really love to get rid of the boat anchor
named Vinny

because with tagging space it really limits what they can do during the offseason
Hextall tried to move Pronger this past summer according to Friedman:
http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/3...-wrong-reason/
Quote:
10. After Chris Pronger’s NHL hiring was announced, Flyers GM Ron Hextall said he’d tried to get something done about the injured defender’s contract, so that it would no longer hang over the team. He didn’t have success from a CBA standpoint. But, last weekend, a couple of sources indicated Philadelphia attempted to trade his rights during the summer. Can’t pin down who, (or for what), but there were some reasonably serious discussions.

I'd love to see Wayne Simmonds in the flaming C. With Philly's disastrous season so far I'm sure they are listening to offers

Vinny is welcome to come play center for the flames if he brings a 1st round pick with him

It all depends on the rest of the season of Ramo does show he's significantly better do you still keep Hiller?

Is Ortio playing better than he was at the start of the season. Unless Ortio forces the issue and is good enough to be claimed going ramo Hiller isn't a bad option.

I'd gladly see the Flames take on L Schenn, in order to acquire B Schenn.

Chief, why would you WAIVE Hiller? With the Philly discussion, are they interested in Hiller (50% retained)++ for a bad contract, someone like say Simmonds, and a first?
I feel as an organization the Flames see more long term value in Ramo, which could lead to Hiller moved for assets. How is Gilles doing?

I don't think the return you would get for Sven at the moment would be " really good". That said I think they need to make a decision on Sven by the deadline. I personally don't trust his agent. Could see him making sure Sven is traded in the summer like he did with nino.
Also someone said that Sven would need to clear waivers next year. Not sure that is true, but if it is, there are a couple of bottom feeders that would grab him in a second if it was for free. With the glut at lw and other prospects making a case to be with big team, I'm not convinced Sven would be a lock to make the team next year. And like I said earlier I don't see him passing through waivers.

I guess waive was probably the wrong word but the discussion was Ortio will be 1-way next year so he'll have to be on the team. So along those lines, I'd go with the Finnish tandem and move(trade) Hiller.

Why does a player on a one way "have" to be on the team?

As many have said, one way or two way mean nothing about waivers, but if Ortio would have to clear next year it's fair to suggest its going to create an interesting situation on the back end.
