Both Addams Family and Twilight Zone will be back on location this summer at the Flames Community Arenas on Crowchild. Just needed to work on them a bit and switch things up.

The lounge closes for the summer around the end of May, then we move all the pins into the large hallway. Was planning to have Addams and Twilight back over there in Jul so I can bring a few others home and work on those.

By the way, coming soon to the Flames Community Arenas:

Pinball tournament tomorrow, all spots were snapped up immediately but thought I would post the details in case anyone wants to come out to watch, hang out and play the other pins.

We'll have 4 other pins set up (Whitewater, Fish Tales, Revenge From Mars, Metallica) taking loonies/toonies. The 4 tournament pins get left on free play after the tournament for everyone to play.

Sat May 30th 2015
Flames Community Arenas (Formerly Centennial Arenas)
2390 47th Ave SW (50th Ave exit off Crowchild)

4PM – 6PM: Practice
6PM: Tournament Starts

16 spots, first paid first in.
No spots held, no refunds for no shows.
2 Backups will be accepted in case there are no shows, this entry is refundable.
18 years of age and over.
$25 entry fee, paid in person at Flames Community Arenas.
Prize money increased from last tournament.
Must be there by 5:30PM.

16 entries will be broken into 4 groups, randomly drawn. Top 2 from each group advance until final 4. Similar format to last tournaments with a few tweaks to move things along quicker. More details to follow

If you ever in Seattle go to a bar called shorty's. It's full of pinball machines. Very cool place.

Seattle is a haven for pin. There is a pinball museum in Chinatown. You pay $15 or so for admission and every game is on free play.
They have machines going back to the 50s all the way up to some really amazing new ones - including an all graphic pinball machine that somehow manages to replicate the feel of real pin. There is also a new crazy Wizard of Oz game that is different from anything I've played before.

They have a ton of games - probably 60 or more in total including most of the favorites. You can easily waste hours in there without realizing it.

The notable omissions are no TZ and no Apollo 13 (not a great game but 13 ball multi-ball is an amazing feature).

Anyways if you are in Seattle and love pin it is a MUST see.

Bit of an off topic bump but does anybody know if there are any reputable pinball dealers in Calgary.

Of course there is SML or Kijiji, but would love to get my hands on pinball machine in my basement and was wondering if there were any other options.

Preferably I would love to get a World Cup 94, but would be open to other pins as well.

Kryzsky, you get your Hobbit game yet? I saw that they were finally delivering them.

Played Wizard of Oz, Walking Dead, new Kiss machine as well as a ton of old favourites in Vegas last week. My 10 year old might love pinball even more than me. Great fun!

Yeah, there are reports of a few Hobbit deliveries to customers. Not sure when we get ours but I'll post here for sure so anyone who wants to can come out and play it.

Had about 30 guys out last night at the Flames Community Arenas on Crowchild for the regular pin league event, thankfully I don't have to organize or run it, just maintain the pins.

Fish Tales
Terminator 2
Whitewater
Revenge From Mars
Demolition Man
The Flintstones
The Shadow
Metallica (Master of Puppets)
Batman (The Dark Knight)
Addams Family

All on location and available to play, although the lounge will be closing for the season soon and the pins will be out in the hallway upstairs.

Any updates locations/new information?

What happened to the Arcade and Pinball show? It seemed to be really ramping up then disappeared, never came back. Usually happened in September IIRC

The Calgary Pinball Enthusiasts website can be found here

The pinball show in Calgary hasn't happened in a couple years as far as I'm aware.

Edmonton had a pinball show back in May and it was fantastic.

There is pretty big show in Vancouver next month that a few people from Calgary are going to.

Man, I just got back from the Oregon coast. Tons of arcades with plenty of pinball. It sure did feel good to lose myself for almost 4 hrs! ( the wife was like "wtf" ) lol

That map is depressing. There is a good amount at the airport, though many past security. But man this town needs some Zone. No Zone? WTF.

Yes, I've played it several times. There is on at the candy store in Inglewood.

It has a very deep rule set like most of the newer Sterns. Basically shoot the flashing lights and you are good to go.
