His 54 pts would be a lot more (maybe 70+) in a run and gun and let the goalie be brilliant Flames system that gaudreau had last year.

Hurbedeau was signed for 3.25x2 after holding his breath Gaudreau style and took a step forward being a top forward on a playoff team 59 pts +17 earning a 5.9x6 extension.

Why does Calgary have to pay a premium?
What's missing here is some sort of metric or proof that 54 pts in a defense system translate to 70 in a Hartley system. If you could prove that, that Huberdeau would match Johnny in scoring if he played in CGY, that would be a game changer.

This is actually where hero charts are quite useful. They show you what a player is doing relative to his teammates.

(In case you're wondering, wtf are we talking about: ricardodw proposed the Huberdeau bridge deal for Gaudreau. Sorry for not having news)

If he and the team while he was on the ice didn't have a waaaaay below average shooting % on the road his counting stats would be much higher. If we're going to say is matchups or something else, what changed between when he was on the top line in 14/15 and 15/16? Very little. It's almost assuredly just bad luck

I don't know if you're just a Matt Damon wannabe or if you're Lewis Gross' Darren to Kramerica, but one thing is sure, your contribution here has been subtraction by addition.

I can't believe it, but I am seriously wondering whether I want this signing to be over so that we have our star, or so that you will just stop being around here. You have actually made Flames fans come really close to resenting Johnny, with your incessant presence.

The sooner you GTFO, the better.

@frank_seravalli:
Hearing #Flames GM Brad Treliving has traveled to NYC area to get down to business w/ Gaudreau's agent, Lewis Gross. Negotiations underway.

Kind of looks like they're being schooled by geared up 8 year olds.

Look at Brodie though, still sending that beauty backhand through two defenders like it's nothing.
