Now that I think about it, they probably didn't even pay Garrett Wang to be the emcee at the TNG event lol. He wasn't officially scheduled and they just sort of asked him since he happened to be around and he probably said yes so people would notice him. The funny thing is that I saw Colm Meaney the same weekend at Club Monaco in downtown. I was surprised he didn't show up with the cast.

Perhaps he was tied up with Hell on Wheels filming commitments?

lol I think he's been back every year since as an actual guest. Last year he was booked for all four days so his little gamble paid off here in Calgary at the very least.

Don't they have a VIP fast pass thingy to get to the front of the line? Might be worth it if you are going big.

I believe in the Jays.

Great Heel... I can honestly say that when I was a kid there was no one I hated as much as the Honky Tonk Man.

Really Star Trek TV series are really career killers.

Oh, no they aren't. Sure, most don't go on to do anything bigger, but really for most actors being a series regular on a long running show (with a feature film or two thrown in for good measure) would be the pinnacle of their career.

Yeah, they have the VIP pass but it costs a lot more than I would be willing to pay. You are right though if the pics and autographs with the celebs is your thing, then that is the way to go. No point spending the majority of your time in lines.
I only did the autograph and photo thing because it the wife is a huge Bruce Campbell fan and it was our first expo. After going through it i think we both came to the realization that if we had to do it again we probably would not go that route again. Live and learn.

Wang is almost a second CCEE mascot now. He's the go to celebrity panel host.

I believe Wang lives in Calgary at least part of the time. On his Twitter profile, he has his location listed as "Las Vegas.Calgary.Los Angeles".

A few weeks ago, he tweeted from the Roughnecks game.

Well now I have to take back all the fun I've made of Ensign Kim. Garrett and his wife/partner. I think she's a Calgarian.

Yeah, looks like he meet a Calgarian girl and somewhat settled down her with here, interesting. Guy seems to have went full Canada, tweeting about World Juniors, Flames, Gord Downie concert and The Hip.

For all we know he posts on CP.
Maybe he can go halfsies on a group therapy session with Dennis Wideman after all the mean things people have said about the two of them on this board in the last few days.

I'm actually one of the few Harry Kim supporters. He was the ultimate Star Trek 'every man'.

Theres not much wrong with the character, he was a moderately less crappy Wesley Crusher.
Its just unfortunate that he was on Voyager. Because Voyager was bad. And it should feel bad.

His girlfriend is from Edmonton.
I believe they met at the Expo up there.
Love Garrett, he's a really cool guy to talk to! I love how into sci-fi he is.

Jay and Silent Bob tickets just went on sale.
$100 including fees. Ouch!
But I'm in row 3 floor. So that's not so bad.
