It seems shawnski logs in once every few months, overreacts to something and then leaves. It's kind of weird.

For something so old, that's pretty bloody funny. Always liked Cosby.

I've been in to Louis C.K. lately. Certainly not a "minimalist" comedian by any means, but always hits the right spot with his ability to assess daily life and strategically cross the line whilst doing so.

The line is something like this.

"When you open the Parkay in my neighbourhood, it says F#%$ you!"

Originally I thought it may have been Eddie Murphy, as it was from the early to mid 80's. It was said with a street / urban slang feel to it (if I remember correctly). I was just a young lad when I heard it.

Two great shows I think of right away.

Dana Carvey - Squatting monkeys tell no lies. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8e1iszcZes

Robin Williams Live on Broadway http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WR1oeFEAAw

Maybe not one of my favourite performers (he's very odd), but one of the best at two-liners is Emo Philips, author of quips like:

Wonen like courtesy on a date. I got in trouble once; I didn't open the car door for her. Instead, I just swam for the surface.

I found our cat the other day. I would have found him a week ago, but we have a grass bag on our lawnmower.

Worth a look if you're unfamiliar with him. I think he's also where emos originated.

Has anyone been listening to the new Funny 1060 radio? http://www.funny1060.com/

It just launched at the beginning of September, replacing whatever they used to play on 1060 AM (Country?).

I listened to it for a bit yesterday, and I don't think it's a sustainable format. It's basically programmed like a music station with a bunch of 2-3 minute clips from different stand-ups.

For me, it didn't really work, but I guess when you're the least-listened-to station in the city, there's nowhere to go but up.

This is exactly how Sirius comedy stations work. I find the 1060 version has less replay though.

I enjoy the 1060 format. I'm not in my vehicle for extended periods of time though and don't listen while I work. I think it's a nice change to regular talk radio or the music stations in this city.

I picked up tickets to Brian Posehn at the Republik in November.

Cool - I'd like him to autograph my Deadpool comics.

I just watched My Girlfriend's Boyfriend - Mike Birbiglia.

Very good. Touching and hilarious.

Yeah his shows seem so much more theatrical than a straight jokes and bits style standup. gotta be the one-man show pedigree of an earlier stage career.
btw i usually find one-man shows to be incredibly tedious, but its impossible not to like this guy.

I wouldn't have watched that Birbiglia show without your recommendation, so thanks. That was great.
