Default DRAM price fixing class action settled (aka Get your Free $20!)

Someone at work sent this to me today. You can fill out a form and get a $20 refund due to class action suit being settled on DRAM price fixing. No proof required.

Was just about to post this. You can also get more if you did keep receipts, though I would have no idea why you'd have a receipt from 99-02. But some may.

Yea I don't think anyone would have that stuff by now since it's been so long unless you are a huge hoarder. I actually tried to find my tech receipts from back then, realized emails changed, credit cards have changed, I've moved twice since and all my physical receipts have been thrown out since they are well outside the warranty periods.

Finding receipts is only worthwhile if you bought more than 4 computers. Check out the calculator to see how much you need to have purchased to get more than $20.

I had two devices, but have neither the devices nor the receipts obviously. Guess I don't have to worry about losing out on more.

Nah, it's nearly identical to what happened with the CD rebate about ten years ago, because of similar price fixing.

Put in your info, get 20 bucks. Obviously that's not going to make or break anyone, but hey, it's a fancy six pack!

There are far cheaper ways to get emails, haha.

Hopefully before I die, I really want to see telecom price fixing class action settlement.

Owned a cell plan in the past? Come get your free thousands of dollars you overpaid.

Well I made sure to Google "canadian dram class action"

I then visited the lawyers listed websites, they link back to the site I posted and mention the class action.

Finally, the link Has been on every major news publication Sun, Star, Post, etc. you can see from the Google search above.

But ya, probably a very very expensive and elaborate phishing scam.

WHOIS on the website leads to NPT LLP Chartered Accountants which has handled a lot of class action lawsuits in the past.

Looks legit unless these guys have done a crap ton of hacking of other sites and none of the site owners have noticed or gotten contacted about it for weeks. Bad thing you'll likely have to wait a year for the money and memory prices will probably go up by $20 next year to cover all the lawyer fees and settlement.
