I haven't seen the 8gb version at retail anywhere so you're looking at the 16gb. So, 260+tax is 275, anywhere from 20 to 50 for the case. I think the 2 year memory express warrantee is 45, 3 years 65.

I am curious what this device costs, all in. The 200 bucks is with a standard Google mail away warranty I am guessing? Case and screen protector is another 100 bucks?

$200 is only if you order the 8GB version from Google Play store. $260 is standard for the 16GB unless you have things like Staples couples or anything like that. Warranty is from ASUS and you'll have to ship to Vancouver since they don't have any local depots IIRC. As for a case, those tend to run anywhere from $20-50 depending on what you're looking for. Screen protectors run anywhere from $5-15. So you'll be at $35 for the cheapest case and screen protector.

I broke down and bought one of these bad boys tonight. I was just going to get a Play Book for media and surfing on trips, but I buckled.
Never had an Android before, what do I need to know?

Press the power key and down-volume button at the SAME time to take screen shot of whatever is currently on you Nexus, including capturing your current setup and look of your tablet.
That being said, let's see some of the screens you guys have.

After playing with my Nexus 7 for a few days, the fact that it works in landscape mode 99% of the time (only not on the main screen) encouraged me to unlock and root it. A simple change to the build.prop file and voila, landscape mode!
Was a very simple process, I'll let anyone interested google for the instructions.
As an added bonus, I can also back it up properly, and install an ad-blocker.
I love this thing.

I also ordered a case, USB adapter and screen protector from amazon.ca as well.
Here is the case - http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B008...ls_o00_s00_i00
I ended up ordering the "Frequently Bought Together" package a little ways down

Just a quick follow up for anyone who might be tempted to order the same case as me.
I placed the order on September 5, and it hasn't arrived yet. Mildly annoying, as I have to treat my Nexus 7 with kid gloves until it arrives.

I still haven't ordered a case yet. Should spend some time researching it...

I picked up one of these yesterday. I love the weight. Screen is meh but for reading and browsing it'll do.
On the GS3 there are a lot more options as far as lock screen info. Is that just different between different Android devices?

Lockscreens differ slightly between different android devices as a result of manufacturer customizations. Some are better, some are worse. Default only lets you do Google Now, camera and unlock IIRC. If you want to customize and add more lockscreen options you can download apps like widgetlocker or magic locker.

Help needed!
I bought my Father in law a nexus 7 and he has it in Arizona.
Apparently he can't log into it. I is coming up with a password screen and he has entered all his known passwords. Is there a way to get in?
If not, is there a way to reset it without losing everything?
If not, is it possible to get the music off of it before he resets it?
I found how to do a soft reset. How do you do a restore to factory default? Is there any other options?
When we do get it back is there a way to back it up, like the iPad does so we just have to re-install the previous profile?
Thanks.

Is there a button combo to get to recovery? Probably power + volume up/down from the device powered down. There may be an option to factory reset from stock recovery I really don't know. A reset should not delete your "SD" card contents like music and photos.
