Default Issue with MS Surface Pro and RDP

Bought an MS Surface Pro for one of our "mobile" brokers in the office so she can remotely connect to her computer here at work when visiting clients. Issue we are having, when she fires up a remote desktop connection to her computer here, the resolution is so high the icons and text are really small on the remote screen. I don't have much issue with it, I like high resolution desktops but she's telling me she can barely read it.

I'll admit, the quoting software would be tough to use as it is quite small to begin with.

Anyone know how to fix this? I'm not having much looking finding answer on the net.

I think your only choices are to adjust her desktop resolution or make text/icons larger by going to screen resolution, make text and other items larger. Unfortunately that's a bit of a pain. Let me know if you find something better...

Thanks a ton for looking that info up, Fuzz. Sadly, I've already tried that RDP client. There are certainly more options as far as resolution goes but doesn't appear to make much difference. My search has lead my to conclude others are having the same issue.

Well, it wasn't totally fruitless, because I discovered I could run all my server RDP sessions in one window. So I'm better off, sorry no help to you....

Yeah this bug has been around for a while and is annoying.

You can reduce the resolution on the Surface Pro, to get the right scaling I had to download and force install an official Intel IGP driver - the MS one does not give you all the resolution options. Was a PITA.

I just live with it now. I only use my SP3 for travel, the rest of the time I use a MacBook Pro retina with MS RDP (made for MS by a german company) and it scales perfectly. All my works is done through RDP because my employer wants it that way.

Maybe MS should farm out the development of the windows version too.

I just don't get why they didn't think of this in the first place. Or if they did, they sure didn't do anything about it. Stands to reason a lot of people would use this platform for businesses and therefore would be likely to want to use RDP.

MS really dropped the ball here IMO on an otherwise awesome platform.

Have you tried anything like Teamviewer to see if you have more options?

No...I haven't. That may be worth a try, thanks!
