Oh this is only Beta 1, it's a long time before it goes final. I think it was like 3/4 of a year last time. Hopefully sooner, I think I remember them saying it was going to be final late this year.

The Following User Says Thank You to photon For This Useful Post:
I have been using FF4 for a week and have yet to have a problem. I can't believe how stable this browser is. I have made the switch to FF4 on all my computers. Flash and website load times are way better.
Anyone with FF and Windows 7, what shows up under the thumbnail previews? Does it show you previews for each window? Or each tab?
I could have sworn it showed up as Windows, but after a crash and restart of Firefox now I'm getting a preview for every tab, and I usually have lots of tabs open, and it's driving me crazy.

Why can't you do this? I use FF4 for browsing, FF3.6.8 for dev work. Haven't tried that on a PC, but you're not on a PC are you?
Haven't tried any of those addons.
I just assumed you couldn't. Usually when you install a new browser version, it either upgrades the old one or asks you to uninstall it first.
I suppose I could have tried installing it... but my FF3 is already faster than Chrome, so it's not like I'm in a hurry to jump to 4.
Edit: Ok. I installed it. It looks a lot like Chrome to me, and it's nowhere near as fast as my tweaked-out 3.6. I can see myself switching to it eventually, but it's not there yet. (Hence the term "beta.")
Alright I fixed it, in about:config go to browser.taskbar.previews.enable and set it to false, it was set to true as the default, and that must have changed in the Beta 2.
Set it to false and it's all back to normal now, I just see previews of windows instead of all tabs.
Crisis averted
