Ha, I thought this was such a random reference for this series, then remembered that hiring.

Liking NYI in this one so far. That Mike Reilly waiver claim was a stroke of genius by Lou

It's early but the series has been as advertised so far

The only way the Islanders win is if they lull the Canes to sleep and win a bunch of low scoring 2-1 and 1-0 games. So far they're executing the plan to perfection. It's how they've gone deep in the playoffs in the past.

There's nothing exciting about it, but for a team devoid of any elite players they've done exceptionally well over the years.

That Kuznetzov trade has really paid off well for the Canes. To think the Caps only received a third rounder in return... meanwhile he's much more of a gamebreaker than Lindholm and Henrique who netted huge returns, and will be more of depth players during the playoffs.

Yeah, especially since they got Washington to eat half the contract too. At age 31 for 1.5 years x $3.9M that is not a bad gamble.

At least they got to see what an absolute disgrace that call was so hopefully there will be a make up call or some extra liberties allowed.

That should be reviewed by the league though and a fine for embellishment given.

Gotta love Stefan Noesen. 1st round pick by Ottawa, traded to Anaheim, bounces around because of injuries, mostly ineffective except for 1 27-point season in New Jersey. When he signed with Carolina, he had 54 career points in 278 games. Then boom, 73 points in 159 games the last two seasons.

As for Kuznetsov, he scored tonight and added an assist, but I wouldn't get too excited. Just 2 goals and 7 points in 20 games for Carolina down the stretch.

Didn't think Dobson looked very good in this game.

Kuznetsov had some off ice issues, otherwise he is twice the player Lindholm is offensively

They have been playing Varlamov for a while, around when Roy took over coaching.

Varlamov had the superior numbers this year and Roy knows him well from Colorado
