Beware of the loud colour though. If this is gonna be your only watch for a while, it may not go well with other colours of your clothes.

Oh, you're looking for the planet ocean chrono. I'm assuming the 45.5mm?
This one?

You are better off going online. Before I bought my Hublot Big Bang I was able to find the best prices online. Ebay isn't a bad place either. A lot of ADs tend to sell their stuff on Ebay, including Jomashop. Might actually be cheaper then their website in some cases.

Also, check for Jomashop's "Deal of the Day" regularly. They have some unreal deals from time to time.

hmm...Costco might actually come pretty close. I'm not sure how much you would have to pay for duty, but the watch is already $6500 including shipping on Jomashop. Duty on top of that might actually put the watch close or over the Costco price.

Yeah, the Costco one is tempting, but I really, really want the orange. I always wanted a Seamaster, and I had a client a couple years back with the orange accent, and it looks absolutely amazing in person. He was also wearing it with a suit, and it looked fine. In fact it really makes it stand out a little more as some of the Seamasters are easily mistaken for Tags and Submariner Homages. There is no mistaking the orange Seamasters for anything else.

The orange sesamaster is one of my dream watches too, besides the green Rolex submariner. Still debating between the two (aside from saving up money for it)..
Another question, some poster suggests to go to the States to buy watches from retail. Even you are saving on the retail prices, aren't you going to pay higher sales tax (like 9% for NY or Washington) which will kinda negate the price advantage?

Pylon - gently worn, pre-owned is the way to go if you're patient enough to wait.
Pretty much all of the major watch forums have a sales sub-forum, including one all-Canadian site http://canwatchco.ca/
I've bought several watches from Timezone's Sales Corner http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...eadt&frm_id=32
You just need to do some due diligence on the seller but the savings can be enormous.
My last TZ purchase was this Chopard Pro One (photo is by seller).
MSRP is something like $10K. Grey market sites have it for less than $7K. I paid (with all boxes, warranty cards, COSC certificates, etc), $3200.
BTW - many watch enthusiasts refer to the model you're interested in as a Planet Ocean chronograph. That could help with a google search.

^^ Heard of any Seiko Astrons going on sale? I guess they're not that expensive to begin with, but wouldn't mind saving some money if possible.

I bought my Speedy (w boxes/papers) from an AD in DC for about 35% off list a few years ago. I doubt you'll get that much off in Canada though, and since then Omega has started really cutting their AD network and going boutique. These days I would buy a used one off of a reputable poster on watchuseek.com or via watchrecon.com (watch search aggregator).
I actually bought mine for a bigger birthday too (although 3-0). Nobody else was going to, so what the hell. It was one of the best purchases of my life…I love this thing. If I don't buy another watch for the rest of my life, I'll be ok with that.

Ditched the Omega plan for now... just not in the budget. But I ordered a couple beauty JDM Seiko's today, and crossed two more must haves off the list a weird Japanese divers:
Seiko SBDC001 Sumo Automatic. This has been the one I have been drooling over, and they are priced incredibly well right now at around $550:
And a Seiko Sawtooth SHC063P1, the vendor had one of these new, and they have been near impossible to find for a few years now:
I'm pretty happy with my haul for $900, and should keep me entertained until at least Christmas. It is funny. I get so many people thinking these JDM Seiko divers are $2-3000 watches when they look at them and handle them. They are so different than the junk Seiko markets here.

Very cool! JDM Seiko's are awesome...I have no idea why we get the crazy versions only. I have a Seiko Samurai and that thing is build like a tank.
Don't give up on the Omega dream though...

My Seiko Marinemaster 300 Tunacan showed up today from Seiya in Japan. Wow, what a watch. Now I see what all the frikkin fuss is over it. Most comfortable 'big watch' I have ever owned, and the build quality of the thing shames some high end Suisse stuff. Took it off the rubber and put it on an Engineer bracelet.
Seiya Japan has them on sale right now for $797. Add an Engineer Bracelet for $70 from strapcode, and all the taxes etc... and you have an iconic JDM diver with 2 straps for about a grand.
And by the way, these Engineer bracelets are amazing for the money. They feel like they are triple the price.
