That type of break is usually caused by swinging the bat. Basically, the force of the swing and contact can crush the knob of the bat into the hand. It's a well known problem in baseball.

Yup.
This sucks for Alfrod but I am intrigued by Smith who was off to a good start at AAA. Not that I have high hopes but has enough tools that could be a 4th OF type and give them some depth there.

Man this team could do some damage if they could get even a little healthy.
Pillar hitting well
Smoak hitting well
Travis back hitting well
Bautista finding his swing again
Estrada and Stroman pitching great
Bullpen just deadly
Get Sanchez, Happ and Liriano back and add Biagini to the bull pen as a long man.
Get Donaldson and Tulo back and this is a pretty complete team IMO.
Hopefully they can stay close to .500 and give themselves a chance in the 2nd half.

There are always a week or two each season with only 5 games...it drives you nuts. The best thing about baseball is there is a game (almost) every day!
