Utility was the best fit for me. I think he ends up as a second/third line tweener who primarily plays wing but can move to centre when needed. But more games like last night, and he might solidify into top-six.

I went top 6 winger, but I see him more as a 2nd / 3rd line winger. Depending on the make up of the team. I think in 2 years he has shown he is just allot more useful on the wing

That's exactly how I look at Glencross, I think his best hockey was playing third line, moving to second to cover for injuries and PK. It allowed him to go full out every shift he was on the ice, I think his inconsistencies stem from too much ice time.
I voted for top 6 winger for Colborne because I think his size can be a big asset on the opposite wing from a Sven or Johnny Hockey. I don't think he will ever light up the league, but if he continues on this path I think he has a long career ahead and put up some decent points, now that he is learning how to use his size I see more of a modern power forward in him. He just doesn't look as effective in the centre.

Has the size, but more importantly the skill to be a top 6 forward.
I wouldn't be surprised to see 50 points out of the guy this year.

I voted utility player and I think that makes him very valuable for the future. He's probably best on the wing, but he's no slouch at centre either. If another centre goes down to injury it doesn't feel like a compromise to move him into their spot. If he keeps producing at his current rate he's easily a top 6 forward in my opinion.

Utility to me means he fills in when someone is injured or not producing. I don't think that describes Colborne. He makes a good 3rd line centre as well as a fine 2nd line winger. The thing is he seems to have compatibility with Monahan playing RW, so it's in both players interest to play together.

Utility player for me.
We just found another "filler" player who can play all positions if need be. We can have him playing from the 1st line to the 4th, just like Paul Byron. The best part is he is a utility player that produces points.

I chose top six winger - not necessarily that he is a lock there today - but more in terms of what he can become if he stays on his present trajectory. He was really impressive last night in terms of hits, face-off wins, board battles etc. If he continues to develop in the next year as much as he has in the last year - he could be a top six winger for sure.

Mistakenly hit top 6 centre, when I meant top 6 winger. He is really starting to use his frame well to shield the puck in the corners. Just need to see some more breakaways to show off those sweet shootout moves!

I chose top 6 centre, which I don't actually think he is. I still think he has loads of potential, so he could become a 2nd line centre, or more likely a talented 3rd-line centre who puts up good offensive numbers. If he improves on faceoff maybe he could be the next Joel Otto.
He's playing a physical game now, and with his size he's making room for his linemates wherever he plays. Good hands, great intensity, good hockey IQ, long reach... The list goes on and on. He's become one of my favourite Flames.

He's creating chances behind the net and around the boards; his reach keeps other defending skaters at bay. Plus he has good hands and stick work.
Definitely growing into a good mold if things continue.

I think his production and ice-time will be reflective of a top 6 player (likely a 2nd line winger), but he is the type of player that will play hard where ever you need him. If someone else gets hot and you need him to play down on the bottom 6, he isn't the type to pout about it. (Sort of like guys like Conroy or Stajan now).

I see him as sort of a Michal Handzus type guy: A giant who plays really soft, has the offensive tools of a top six guy but not the all round game, and who can play centre or wing.
I think Joe peaks as a 2nd-line winger who can fill in at centre, but will primarily be a third-liner who fills in for injury on the second line for most of his career. He's a below average second liner but an above average third liner.

He's our 2nd line RWer/LWer for the foreseeable future.

I chose top-6 winger because he has all the attributes you want from a RWer. He's even starting to play a more physical game with his added strength.
He seems to hold onto the puck for too long and try to do too much when playing at Center. His board play allows him to hold the puck for as long as he wants, but he's not as good at protecting the puck in the slot which further suites him as a winger.
Joe can most definitely be more than a 3rd liner. Just look at his progression in his 1 year with Calgary. He went from a fringe Center that we wanted to send to the AHL (if he could avoid being picked up off waivers) to a player who doesn't look out of place on the top line of a winning hockey team.

I can hardly believe what I'm seeing. Maybe I have no idea, but on an actual competing NHL team this guy hardly cracks the line-up. Something tells me that this would be a different thread if we were looking at him after a game against someone other than the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
