Impossible job to fill Maher's shoes. The man could describe a game (give or take a "prancing/dancing out of the zone").

Hrudey and Ball have been refreshing for the broadcasts, compared to what we had in previous years on sportsnet

Just noticed this thread now. I can't be the only one that read the thread title as "I like Hrudey's Balls"? Just everyone else was too mature to comment on that?

My only complaint about the both of them is that they sometimes talk too much about the game itself as opposed to doing the actual PBP of the game.

Hrudey's awesome and class act. We're lucky to have him on a regular basis, not just for Flames broadcasts but as a resident of our fair city.

Love these guys.

Huge, huge upgrade over Kerr and Simmer.

Only complaint is Ball screws up quite a bit on the names. Seems to get Raymond messed up with Glencross a lot. I don't know if he wears glasses, but maybe he should (not an insult) because he seems to have problems knowing which player is who and when Gaudreau passed it to Wideman he thought he shot it and it was a rebound goal.

Other than for national broadcasts, I think that Calgary have been the biggest winners in respect of the changes of Sportsnet personnel this season.

Most of you probably don't play NHL15 vid game, but as long as Hrudey and Ball don't use 'geometrically' and 'recoiling', I'm happy. *shudder*

I love having Hrudey and Ball. Every game feels like HNIC every day.

Hrudey must be happy he doesn't have to pay for season tickets anymore. Now he gets paid to travel and watch them.

I think the biggest difference is it seems like Hrudey and Ball are actually friends. It comes off as two friends having a conversation about the game with some play by play thrown in. It never seemed like Simmer and Kerr had that much chemistry.

Or any talent whatsoever. I was amazed on here that it seemed the majority would defend those two. The difference in listening pleasure is immense. Literally night and day. From bush league to quality. Kerr is actually very good on the radio. The quality of the radio shows went down dramatically when he left. Now that he has returned to where he belongs it is a win win.

and no more weird delay in the feed compared to the audio. I couldn't stand that. So far, Sportsnet as done well, when all is considered. Well... aside from Healy. I really dislike that troll.

I've really enjoyed Hrudey and Ball, to the point where I've been quite annoyed when they weren't calling the game.

It's also nice not to have Kerr yelling at me or hear consistent and pointless talk about random stats in Charlie Simmer's career. I really didn't mind Kerr and Simmer, but very I'm happy with change.

Anyway, I like Hrudey and Ball too. Hrudey is so calm in his descriptions, but don't kid yourself, Hrudey is seen as a Flames homer and has been for a couple years by outsiders, even on HNiC.
Cuz he's loaded.

I got the delay in the Carolina game. The audio is before the video. I drives me crazy.

I think I noticed a hint of it myself.. not terribad, and maybe it's my mind playing tricks on me from the emotional scarring of seasons past. (Telus)

The delay is still there. I've only noticed it on two goals so far though, unlike every single goal last year.

More important on radio but on TV you can see what is happening so I like it when the guys break from pure pbp
