Find Friends is kind of laggy / glitchy too, IMO.

Something like this might not be possible from the iOS side due to what background apps are allowed to do and when they can run and do stuff.

In general parental controls and reporting are still a HUGE deficiency in iOS IMO.

And usage limiting.. oh man, I'd kill for that.

So I just bought a Macbook Air 13 and am curious about Mac people's thoughts on Sierra? Im trying to decide whether to upgrade or not. Few reviews I've read so far haven't got me convinced either way.

Also, anyone have any good cover recommendations for the Air?

What concerns do you have about updating?

If I may interject, my only concern with my Macbook Air (2012?) would be that it would simply use more resources, and thus deplete the battery faster. In my experience, however, Mac OS updates are a little gentler in that area than iOS updates. I have a noticeable reduction in battery life since upgrading to iOS 10.

I'll end up upgrading soon regardless, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I'm always cautious about big updates to my OS, be it Windows, Mac, iOS, etc. Just looking for some feedback from the CP Mac community.

Well I took the plunge this morning, but it isn't my "bread and butter" machine here at work. I'll let you know my thoughts in a few days once I've had a chance to poke around.

Anyone here had experience with the blue screen of death and subsequent reboot? My son's iPad has started doing this, we've done the hard reset several times now. He's reluctant to do a restore but I'm thinking this is the next logical step?

Images of the new Macbook Pro are hidden in the just out macOS update.

Shows the OLED bar that replaces the function keys, Touch ID sensor in it too.

As far as OS X/MacOS updates, keep in mind that each annual release isn't a 'new' OS. They have been refining that code for over a decade, at this point the updates basically are covering security patches and a new (usually gimmicky) feature or two.

Apple really, really needs a new product line. 'Services' now produce more revenue than Mac and iPad. I think we'll see massive price increases to the MBP today when they are announced.

It has been a week or so, and it honestly seems just fine. Speed, battery, etc. all comparable as before.

There actually isn't much to write home about in this update anyway. Siri is great on my phone when I'm in the car, but I doubt that I'll use it on my Mac. Other than that, it all seems very much the same.

This is the first Lightning adapter I've seen that adds a 3.5mm headphone jack that I would actually consider buying.

It's funny they chose to use a iPhone 6 with a headphone port to show this off...

It also might not be a good idea to use something that looks like it could apply a lot of torque leverage on the port if rotated.

I wonder how long it is before Otterbox or someone makes a case with that integrates an aux port.

And nevermind. Looks like there's already one on indiegogo. Hopefully more follow.

Enough talk about all this newfangled tech, I want to know about old iPhones.

For some occasional light usage by 60+ parents, would an iPhone 5 be 'too old'? I mean, ideally for another say 3 years of use. Would most batteries of this age be shot? Is there any truth to performance degrading on old iPhone models as the new models come out? Finally, any good tips for picking one up cheap? Troll Kijiji and hope to find one underpriced (that isn't stolen)?

Thanks for any input.
