Well, it seems everyone else gets to start a thread about the games they're psyched about, so now I will as well.
Assassin's Creed II looks awesome. I was a huge fan of the first game, repetitive or not. Definitely one of my favourite games ever. This trailer isn't gameplay, but dang it looks sweet.
This time it's set in 1486 Italy, different character but still an ancestor of Desmond Miles. Dual wrist blades, what appears to be a gun, just all sorts of awesome. Even with mild improvements I'm looking forward to this game as much as the new EA NHL game.
Yeah, I'm a bit early as it's slated for Nov 17th release, but hey, I just saw the trailer and thought it was awesome.
Did you see the gameplay footage at E3? The glider looks like it could be an interesting touch.
I'll probably pick up this game, because I'm a sucker for buying games. The first game I still need to beat, but I am enjoying it so far. Combat feels really rewarding.

No, I suck at internets and couldn't find it. Although I did manage to get Rickroll'd, so that was nice.
Yeah, the first one gets better and better, you will get to a point with your upgraded skills where you are God-like. The counter attacks are insanely useful.
The double face palm of death is so sweet. In the new game you can also jump from over 20 feet and kill someone with the hidden knife. So like target him from atop a building then jump down and stab him in the head. I haven't seen this one, but I read it on IGN.
AC was the first game I bought for PS3...and I just finished it last week. Why? The overly repetitive play drove me batty and eventually I just didn't bother turning it on again (until recently when I decided to finally finish it). There were excellent aspects to the first one, but if I have live through extremely similar "objectives", repeating dialogue and cut scenes you have to endure time and time and time again in this next one, I won't even make it half way through. Also - the "beggar woman" had to be one of the most annoying video game characters in recent memory. She better not make another appearance.

It really seems like they are pushing the "we have more variety" aspect to the game. Time will tell though I suppose. I got really into the story of the first game though. So maybe that is why the number of cut scenes didn't totally annoy me.

It wasn't just the number of cut scenes - it was the fact you had to watch them over and over again if you failed a portion of the objective and had to start over. Man was that ever annoying.
I think it got a 9.2/10 from IGN and gametrailers.
The gametrailers review makes it sound like more of the same from the first with hardly any worthwhile additions. The villa making sounds interesting though.
The game is a LOT different than the first. I have killed two bosses and the mission structure is totally different, and way better. You can now customize Ezio, buy stuff, steal money, story is much better than the first. I was skeptical at first, but this was definitely worth it.
Can you still beat an army of enemies by grabbing and throwing them to the ground and assassinating them, rinse and repeat. That's all I did in the first one and never died by getting killed by the enemy.
