Great interview with Iggy, giving props to Engelland and laughing about his flukey goal. Such a classy guy, and I still love and respect him so much.

Was at the game, was far from boring but the third got away from them.
I thought the whole Tkachuk thing turned into a huge distraction. The Flames seemed to drop down to the King's level and played their brand of hockey which you can never do with the Kings. You can't out hit them and out grind them. You need to play the speed game.
Regroup for the next 5 because these are going to be important.

I saw a young team more worried about story lines and hitting Doughty than doing what they need to be successful. Hopefully they learn from it. The best way to get revenge is on the scoreboard, not by trying to take everyone's head off. This game is a learning experience. Calgary did exactly what LA wanted them to.

They fell into the Kings trap. Got owned. They're better than that.

Disagree, Colorado is a giant sucking wound that is killing the career of many good players right now. I think they caught it from the greasers somehow.

Entertaining sure, but also detrimental when everybody got into it.

He played hockey and did nothing dirty.
This is the thing with players like Tkachuk. When they lose, their antics of pissing the other team off look like a bad move.
The Flames lost tonight because of their powerplay and top line not generating much outside the first goal. Nothing else.

they lost because the entire team didn't generate anything...win as a team, lose as a team
Chuck was fine, whats wrong with hitting the other teams best player again and again with clean hits and earning your team power plays?

Nice game by Iginla and its a shame he is not on a playoff team where he would make a meaningful contribution. Maybe the history with the Flames would have made that a bad fit but he could be helping somebody.
This is a game Flames should have won easily with Kings on second half of a back to back. No excuse for the effort tonight.
Flames didn't play great against Colorado either and have looked average lately. A relatively tough finishing schedule which I really hope gets this team tuned up for the playoffs.

Agreed. Except time waits for nobody.
Fast game. Jarome has had a HOF career.
Incredibly fast game.
Too slow now too expect much of a contract if any......

His pre game comments in the print media seemed to light a fire under the Kings. It motivated the Kings to take their game to the next level in what was probably their most complete game of the season. Under no circumstances do you want to give the opposition fodder to help them play better. Tkachuk did just that

I KNOW that Iggy isn't allowed to take it off but its gotta suck fighting a guy with a visor when you don't have one.
He is punching a sharp hard plastic visor and Iggy is hitting him in the eye

oh come on, how many of their games have you seen?...they took six penalties and Calgary scored the winning goal on themselves
It wasn't anything special from the Kings the Flames just didn't play their game

Tkachuk really didn't need to give a wounded animal that was wandering the woods looking for a place to die any extra motivation to fight, and his comments the other day did that.
Flames got completely distracted by the shenanigans and lost focus. That said, like the way they fought for each other, and they just need to learn from this moving forward, both Tkachuk and the team as a whole.

The positives:
Bennett, Brodie, Stone, and Tkachuk looked strong tonight.
Iginla has a Gordie Howe Hat trick in the dome, and gets an ovation as a road first star.
PK was perfect.

Ridiculous that the league won't allow guys to take their helmets off. Iggy always took his off and that was one thing I loved about him.

I disagree. The Kings were able to dictate the style of game from the start and seemed to be a step ahead of the Flames all night. Yeah the Flames didn't play great but I still think the Kings were full marks for their victory.
