What site are you getting Giro news/standings/stage profiles from? I've looked at a couple and they are pretty crappy.

Been pvring it and watching the last half hour. Steephill is a good site too, the layout looks like late 90s but it has all the info.

What are the percentages of breakaway's being caught? I imagine it's pretty high.

I wonder if Ryder is hurt. After peaking at 3rd his performance really dropped off. Even on the climbing stages which are his bread and butter.

Sounds like he had to withdraw because of a viral infection

Too bad for the Giro but it's a silver lined cloud, barring injury he'll be way better off for the Tour de France, pretty rare for anybody to go wall to wall in the Giro for 21 days and then do the same in the TDF 4/5 weeks later.

Anyone going to watch the Tour of Alberta? I'm looking forward to the final day through Hwy 22 to the finish.

Wow that's great for the Tour of Alberta. The tour looks pretty flat though so I don't think he has a great shot at winning.
Wonder what Steve Bauer has been up to this year now that Spidertech folded. He said he was going to raise money so he could field a Canadian team at the highest level next year and I think Ryder's contract is up as well if they ever managed it but getting that kind of money together seems like a longshot.

TDF starts tomorrow, three Canadians, believe it's the first time that's ever happened. Canadian hopes - Ryder gets himself into the GC mix, Veilleux gets in a breakaways and contends for a stage win and Tuft wins a time trial stage. I'd take any one of the three, three fairly visible riders who should hopefully get some face time.
Looks like a fairly flat and dull stage tomorrow unless your a sprint fan.

Le Tour is one of my favorite sporting spectacles of the year. One day I hope to go there to watch a stage or two.

There's a bus stuck on the finishing line, the banner wasn't high enough. Peloton is about 18 minutes out

Hesjedal just got caught in a crash or behind a crash. Not sure if he went down or not

The bus is moving!
Another big crash that wiped out a couple of the sprinters and completely split the Peloton

Just watched on the PVR... Crazy day. When the Aussies stuck their bus at the finish line mass confusion ensued and there were at least 3 pretty decent crashes.
Ryder always seems to get impacted by the crashes, either going down himself or getting stuck behind them because he sits so far back in the peleton.
Tomorrow should be good, pretty big climb and a little mini one just before the finish, might see some GC action.

This. I can't understand why he doesn't stay near the front on these types of stages. I think Garmin came to the front when the speeds came after the break was caught, but quickly went to the back again. Just doesn't make sense. I hope Sagan and the rest are ok after the crash. Would suck to lose the top guys after stage 1.
