Default Oscar Pistorius kills his GF ?

Weird story out of South Africa. Double prosthesis Olympian apparently shot his GF accidentally. Although everything is unclear at this point.

Details in there are very unclear, gonna have to wait to find out more. Sounds like a sad story though regardless

His girfriend was pretty hot. Damn shame. Previous indications of domestic nature? Hmm a little smoke there. Hot model and guy without his legs. I'm speculating but you could possibly see insecurity issues in that relationship. Terrible story wether it was accidental or not.

On the news it showed that he lived in a gated community. Why would you need a gun?

Have you even been to Johannesburg? Almost every property is gated and people with guns are almost as common as people with a Tim Hortons coffee here.

Very weird story, we'll see what comes out. Another case of the great benefits of having a gun in your home.

This is terribly insensitive, but I read this comment on Deadspin and almost choked:

"Well, we all knew he was fully armed"

'his defense doesn't have a leg to stand on'

Jokes aside.. can't buy that a person would 'accidently' shoot his own girlfriend coming into their own house in a gated community. In this world of cellphones, don't you always know when your wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend is coming home?

Unless maybe the definition of 'gated community' in south africa (as Pagal says) is different than here?

I posted my no legs joke in the other thread, but since you did it in here I don't have to now

On the link valo posted it says she was trying to give him a valentines surprise. It's hard to say but maybe it was an accident? I really don't know with this one so I'm interested to see how it plays out.

Why? There could be fences anywhere along the perimeter of the community, nothing says he lived at the edge of a gated community.

Which is about what you would expect for a high end gated community in a country with a ton of space.

Man if you are that scared for your safety and have the money, why would you live there?

Pistorius' house in the Silver Lakes community on the eastern edge of South Africa's capital, Pretoria, is in an attractive compound permanently guarded by armed security, yet that was not enough to allay his concerns about being the victim of violent crime.
