They used to have half price doughnuts after 7 every day, when did that stop? I used to make excuses to grab things there every once and a while to get cheap doughnuts...thanks Sobeys!

Had my first Donut Mill experience yesterday thanks to this thread. Needless to say, just a fantastic donut. Really enjoyed the variety and the way they make the filling is pretty amazing.
Also wanted to send a shout out to the Black Diamond bakery. They make awesome donuts. Banana cream is my favorite, but I really haven't found anything I don't like from there. They also have great breakfasts which make for an excellent appetizer to a donut.

If you go, try the pepper cheese sticks too. They are my all time favorite!

Great- according to Google Maps there's a burger place right beside the bakery. I guess I just won't eat anything next week.

Yah, Marv's is right beside the Bakery. They have a ton of old fashioned candy and other stuff. The burgers are decent, but the shakes are top notch. There's also the Chuckwagon cafe in Turner Valley that was featured on "You Gotta Eat Here" which is really good. And, if you like booze, there's a distillery just down the street in Turner Valley.

That would be cumbersome to eat without slicing into regular sushi-sized portions.

Assuming the 'dough' is actually sticky rice, which is what it looks like, how is that any different than regular sushi?

It just looks like a sushi roll that, instead of being cut into pieces, has the ends joined. It also looks like crappy sushi, as section of it just have seeds or cucumbers on top. I have no idea why anyone would prefer one of those "donuts" to regular sushi.

Me neither, but I don't think I'd put it in the 'barf' category.

It doesn't look like something that would taste better or be easier to eat than regularly sushi, however it is something that will look cool on your Instragram feed.

A better look at the inside of one.
I can see why people would get grossed out at first thought and think about a sushi covered donut but unless it's bad sushi there's really nothing to be grossed out about.

Another awesome visit to the Black Diamond bakery last weekend. A more greasy and less "professional" donut than at the Dont Mill, but so so good!

I'm bumping this thread in honour of Trudeau's donut-gate scandal! It's got me craving them something fierce. Props to the PM for supporting local artisan donuts instead of those gross Timmies ones.
