Is that what it sounded like? lol Maybe you should setup another home theater demonstration...
How you came to that conclusion is mind bottling. The OP seems to be doing this on a regular basis and is in need of new material.
I had no idea that people need to showoff their media in a 1-5 minute intervals. I too have a nice setup, but I have never once, ever, displayed it's full power for all to bask in. If I did, their heads would explode.
lol passive aggressive much?
I have no idea why you're so butthurt that people like to talk about and occasionally demonstrate their home theatre set ups.
And I have no idea why you'd come into a thread about then act incredulous about it your own remarks on the subject. It's kinda weird.
I don't get the just watch one scene though. It's completely different than playing one song from an album. If I am putting a movie on we are watching the whole thing.

Is this really a thing? People putting on a scene from a movie to showcase their setup?
There are people out in the world that have things called friends. Sometimes those friends come over when you have new toys, sometimes you show them those toys.
When I had a new speaker set up I'd often leave The Last Waltz by The Band in the spinner.

Not butthurt at all, but thanks for your concern. It was an honest question, as I had no idea this was even a thing. I guess it's like wanting to showoff how fast your new car goes or something?

Should I crank the theme song to Friends for my friends?
There is so little content right now I haven't even bothered to get into 4k Blu rays. There are like maybe 50 releases on amazon that you can actually buy right now and many of them don't stand out that I'd care for the higher fidelity. And similar to the original Blu ray releases back in the day, these releases will get re-released again shortly for higher bit rate and encoding anyhow.
It'll be a few years yet.
It's a no-brainer if you have a 4K TV. Why wait a few years to actually take full advantage of what your TV can do now? Pretty well new movie disc releases is available in 4k.
