With now four sub forums in the off topic section, is there anyway to make it look a little cleaner?

Actual threads in Off Topic start halfway down the page now, I wonder if there was anyway to make the four sub sections go 2x2 instead of just a straight long list of four?

Minor quibble I suppose, but just curious.

I think a car sub forum would actually draw in a lot of new users. I know people that joined this site simply for the off topic forum, and the maturity level generally displayed in it. If there was a dedicated place to talk cars, it could really take off.

I know I have wanted to start threads before in here about a new model, or industry news, but I didn't because I was unsure if there would be any interest in the topic. Let's be honest this is a male dominant board, and cars is pretty much at the top of the interest list for guys. I could easily see it being as populated as tech-talk, if not more so.

I think it would make a good experiment. And if it doesn't work, just re-merge it.

I'd love if you started new threads like that.

Yeah, start a dedicated car industry thread, see how it takes off.

IDK, I'm not a fan of mega-threads at all. I think it limits discussion big time. In my perfect world, pylon would start a new thread every time he had some industry tidbit that was worth sharing.

Industry related news in terms of manufacturers.

Not, "Hey man, I just took in a sweet ass 2004 Chevy CK1500 with a lift kit with only 43k on trade. It is a total diamond, and I talked the hick into taking 3500 bones for it!" ** Ass Slap! **

I know your only interest in cars is falcon punching peoples windows at crosswalks, but many of us have a lot invested in our rides, and are 'car guys' in general. I think it is a thread worth having as I am always trying to cram my car related posts into threads that aren't necessarily relevant, so I am not clogging up the OT forum with too many threads.

Isn't beyond.ca locally based and cover the auto industry/news pretty well?

I'm more curious to see how fast the thread goes form 0-60 mph. Or how much a restored version of that thread would sell for at Barrett Jackson.

Question regarding the forum re-org, has it ever been considered to move "Other Sports" to be a child forum of the Off Topic forum now?

When I go into the Off Topic, I hammer away on each of the sub-forums that interests me. "Other Sports" seems lost all on it's own, and I often forget to visit.

Am I the only one who browses this site using the "new posts" button? I feel like the odd one out.

No, it's quite immature. Serious discussions are rare.

I do on other sites, but here, I'm in a totally different slacking mood depending on if I want hockey or OT content.
