I live in Calgary. I'm not sure if a pawn shop is the way to go, it's a larger amount and I don't know anything about selling gold/silver so I don't want to get ripped off.

Depending on quantities I could help you out (if you are in calgary or Lethbridge).

Are these straight bullion or do they hold some numismatic value? Also if these are Johnson Matthey or Englehard the can sell at a premium.

I was at calgary coin only 20 minutes ago and he's buying at 85% of spot... i could do a bit better than that.

As a point of reference. Melt value on 1,000g of 0.999+ is $594 US

I'd be interested in buying the silver as well. An FYI you should be able to sell this at very close to spot price. I wouldn't be taking 85% of the value.

I have been collecting gold and silver for some time now by going to auctions and buying lots of coins and watches. It's a little hit and miss, but it is low risk.

For those looking to buy or sell I may be able to help you out if you let me know what you are looking for. I have lots of stuff on ebay, but don't put too much bullion on there as fees eat up most of my spread but PM me to see whats on hand. I have a large lot of Canadian junk silver and commemoratives that I'll be receiving this weekend and will be starting to list next week.

For stuff like SML's or generic bullion i find Albern's pricing to be impossible to beat so I stick with stuff that isn't so commonly available here in town (Silver Eagles, Philharmonics, Pandas, Britannias, Libertad's etc.).

EDIT: I'm also a Masters Club member with the RCM so if there are high demand items you are interested in, I can order for you prior to their general release.
