I know I'm replying to a four year old post, but I don't want people to be mislead! The Glenmore is "okay". I wouldn't say the food is anywhere near outstanding as its a lot of pre-packaged salads and that sort of thing (same with the desserts). Then they have a terrible set up for omelets and eggs benedict and waffles.

If you can get a table, the Ranch in Fish Creek is nice and relatively close to you. I think the prices are fairly reasonable. I should say, Mrs. Impaler and I have never come to terms with their menu, but the setting is great. Have a look at their menu online and see if it works for you...

Really casual place for brunch and you don't feel like they are rushing you out....Nice place to spend an hour or so and walk out stuffed!

I used to work at that hotel and will vouch that it is the best brunch in town. It's now called the Calgary Delta South, formally known as the Best Western Hospitality Inn.

Book somewhere nice right away for Father's Day, and take your mother there as an apology for attempting to book Mother's Day brunch so late.

I've always found the Palliser buffet to be over-rated.

Hey all,
I know it's been 3 years since the last post, but I'm looking to see if there are any additional ideas for Mother's Day brunch?
We do the Calgary Delta South most years, but was wondering if there was something else that should be considered. As we are used to the Calgary Delta, buffet style is a must and kid friendly is important too (mine are 11/8, but my sister's are 4/2).
Thanks

Patisserie Du Soleil in Woodlands. It's not an especially big place, and it's in a strip mall, but the food is excellent.

If you're okay with a bit of a drive, the Rimrock in Banff puts on an incredible brunch for special occasions - we did Mother's Day there last year and just did the Easter brunch last week and it was amazing.

I haven't tried the Rimrock, but every few years we splurge and do the Banff Springs... Also incredible.
Probably waiting until my sister's kids are a little older before doing Banff again as they don't travel well... :-/

I've never tried this place so I don't know if it's any good... might be worth doing a little research? I've been meaning to try it out so if you do end up there, let us know how it was?

I did actually try Priddis Greens one year (prob around 8 years ago).
It was ok, but selection was limited comparatively and never felt the need to go back...
Thanks for the thought though!

I like the Nash, not a buffet but kid friendlyish (no menu) and very reasonably priced.

The Lakehouse in Bonavista is great! Good views, really nice menu. These are the people that used to run the Ranche in Fish Creek.
Now the Ranche is run by Great Events but they still use a similar name and do not like it.

Winsport always puts on a great brunch, plus you often get free skating with it.

Bump - any new suggestions for a good Mother's day brunch without spending an arm and a leg?
Would prefer a good buffet so I can stuff my face.

The Smokin Q BBQ competition has free admission on May 14.

Lots of samples, fantastic smells and a good time to learn something about BBQ.
