Default Rest Days

I wanted to start a thread because I want to make sure I didn't miss a rule change and I know Grant's PM has been acting up.

Grant confirmed in the other thread there will be 1 rest day but in the previous 2 years we have done 2 rest days before the playoffs start.

Why the change to only rest 1 day this year? This decision could have significant implications on my playoffs. If it is an oversight I am recommending we proceed as usual for Day 1 but do 2 days rest before the start of Games 2 so the schedule is not impacted considering many teams have probably already done their lines.

Thanks.

Had never really been a rule. As long as it's the same for all teams isn't that fair particularly since feedback has been that there are few injuries or fatigue. If folks aren't happy with it I'll rest an extra day and re upload the roster and begin games on Sunday. Folks can advise if that's what they want. I'd rather just get the games going

Ok so there is no rule but the standard has been set; 2 games rest between season end and start of Game 1. In the year I need as many rest days as I can get to get my top C back, we do 1 rest day?

If you put it out to the league like that I am fighting an uphill battle, everyone wants to get things rolling.

Is there a reason why my suggestion won't work so we can start on time and still get the equal rest as previous years?

I have an obvious horse in the race, so I don't think my opinion should count.

Doesn't seem like too many people are concerned by this. Guess it's up to the commishes.

You are right because I think I am the only one this is really impacting because of the Seguin injury.

Both teams in the Chicago - Minnesota series have injuries. As long as all teams have the same rest, whether it is 1 day or 2, ultimately will make little difference.

I am missing both RNH and Faulk because of injuries. Arguably no team would benefit from an extra rest day more than me, which is why I kept it as is.

I'll respect your decision but would think a league poll at some point asking how many rest days for future playoffs would be good so it is consistent every year.

Is this something the league would do?

Hello, I asked a question that must have gotten missed.

Are we going to put a step in place so that # of rest days is consistent year to year? If so, great, let's get that sorted out so this doesn't happen again. I can't think of any reason why the answer wouldn't be yes.

Sure. Moving forward I'll just use whatever is showing in the schedule - which is what I did this year.
