Rangers in 4. It won't even be close.

People have been selling the Senators short all year because it's hard to tell how they keep winning given their weaknesses on paper.
The answer is pretty simple: 65.
That said, I do like the Rangers in this one, particularly if Kreider can start doing stuff. Nash looks really good and JT Miller & co really killed it in the elimination game. 6 games seems about right.

I will take the Rangers in 7. Could be another series of tight low scoring games, which is what Guy Bucher seems to thrive in.

Subban/Weber trade for this season was a tie. Pacioretty couldn't score. The Sens are more balanced with their 4 lines.

Announced attendance was 16,744 in Ottawa tonight -- almost 2,000 below capacity.
I guess that's what happens when you build your arena out of town with little public transportation and then decide to raise parking fees for the playoffs.

I google mapped it, holy jesus you weren't kidding! Its at the very fringes of the farthest suburb of Ottawa.
Whose idea was it to put it there? Looks like the equivalent of it being in Airdrie or High River.

Makes Glendale's 12,000 look not bad.. 2nd round playoff game no less. Would've been a sellout here easily.
Was Canada's appetite for hockey a fad? post Salt Lake olympics to now?? There's no reason why a 2nd round playoff matchup against the New York Rangers should not be sold out

Only because the tickets would be selling for $30.

What happened to "Canadians will pay anything to watch the NH:"

Besides the location of the arena in Kanata, I think one thing that has always hurt the Senators, is that so many people in Ottawa are really fans of other NHL teams. Tons of Habs fans and Leafs fans.
You see lots of fans in Ottawa wearing the visiting team's jersey.
If I look at my cousins there - Oilers fan, Hawks fan, Habs fan. It may take a generation for the Sens to become everyone's favorite team in Ottawa.

Yeah there's not a lot of tradition there and it's going to take a few generations of young Senators fans coming of age to purchase season tickets. It's bad enough in Calgary that had a team for over a decade longer where there are lots of fans of even rival teams like the Oilers and Canucks. Still though it's really tough to defend that attendance in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

Is there rail link from the Stadium to Ottawa? Who would go to a game when you have to basically drive to High River and can only have 3 Dome Foams?
Same with casual fans; the draw to playoff hockey when you have to make that kind of trek is a lot less appealing.
This thread isn't the place for it, but that location continues to blow my mind. Terrible of epic proportions.

Well, I am sure that a downtown location would be that much better. Ottawa is smaller then Calgary and a lot of the population cheer for Montreal and Toronto. Its only 2 hours from Montreal. So if you live in an eastern suburb, your maybe an hour to hour an half from Montreal. Also francophones in Ontario are more likely to cheer for the Habs then either of the two Toronto teams.
