Travis is such a bandaid. So unfortunate because he had such another dimension to the offence when he is going.

Taking a pitch to the hand and he's a bandaid ? Hilarious

Certain players are prone to injuries and unfortunate events. He's one of them. Tulo is another. If I wasn't watching the game and someone said "A Blue Jay player just took a ball to the hand batting", I would immediately assume it was either of those two.

Nice! Timely HR by JD. And Osuna looked awesome to close it out, more of that the rest of the way, please.

Osuna looks like a beast lately. Stupid World Series of Baseball. He's just getting over that. Such a needless and irrelevant event.

So much to like about that game.

Top to bottom, great pitching. Man oh man is it nice to have Donaldson on the Blue Jays.

Taking 2 of 4 against the Yankees is great, IMO.

It's the single biggest reason our bullpen took so long to round into form.

That and Grilli being terrible.

If Osuna is Osuna from the start, not only is he not blowing saves, but other people are also not blowing saves because they wouldn't even have gotten the chance to.

Glad to see team rebound like they have, but just off the top of my head I'd guess Osuna showing up lame from that stupid event cost us 4 or 5 games??

Even if it's just 3 games, the Jays would be 31-26 right now. Pretty large swing.

Also, Loup, Smith and Osuna money again.

3 innings, 1 hit, 0 walks, 0 runs and 5 K's

All three with ERA's below 3.00 now and Loup is 2.14.

X-rays on Travis came back negative.

Whew.

Dude is hitting .350 since the start of May. (.970 OPS)

Lucky for us. The ball looked to him in the meat of his hand. Saved some broken bones I think.

Pillar has fallen off a cliff since his nasty comment and suspension about mid May against Atlanta.

Slashing a paltry .154 / .214 / .231 in 57 PA's

Ugly stuff. Hopefully he can find the "new" Pillar again soon.

Looking at the numbers deeper though, he's not striking out much more or walking much less. His BABIP has plummeted though. .328 the first 41 games, .156 in the last 13.

BABIP is basically a measure of luck right? Like a high BABIP means your balls are finding holes whereas a low BABIP means you're hitting balls to fielders right?

Pretty much yeap.

A normal BABIP is around .300

Pillar's was .306 last season

Sounds like Jays bringing up lefty reliever Jeff Beliveau

Blue Jays appear set to add reliever Beliveau to roster

Quote:
Beliveau, who signed a minor-league deal with the Blue Jays in December, has a 3.09 ERA in 32 innings at triple-A Buffalo this year. The 30-year-old has pitched out of the bullpen in 16 of his 17 appearances, compiling 43 strikeouts against 14 walks in 32 innings.
Didn't realize the Jays bullpen leads the AL with 207.1 innings pitched this seasons. I guess having 3 starters out most of the season will do that.
